The Sun is spitting bullets...., page

I was just looking at SOHO and saw what looks like the sun spitting off a pretty good sized bullet of gas. That plus the hemispheric sun quake that happened a short number of weeks ago makes you think, what's next.

What the hell is that?

That's pretty weak compared to the average activity. The Sun is almost entirely void of any sun spots. This is somewhat unusual. One source I read believes it is the beginning of another Maunder Minimum.

looks like part of a filament thats came loose..doesnt look like a flare as u would see an ejection point and it would billow, most likley plasma, but its relatively small with regards to what the sun has been shooting out lately so nothing to worry about.

I am always in awe when I realize that I'm seeing planet size chunks of plasma thrown trillions of miles into space.
