Where's the evidence? TV news don't count.
Have you not heard of this phenomenon called "winter"?
Dr Gianluigi Zangari PhD from the Frascati Institute is a Theoretical Physicist, who has worked for years with a collaborative network of scientists monitoring the Gulf of Mexico Loop Current and its contribution to the Thermohaline Current System that makes the Gulf Stream that becomes the North Atlantic Drift Current and subcurrents made some startling predictions back in July.
Zangari stated, what we're experiencing is not the butterfly effect, but the 'elephant effect'. With the amount of oil released, the natural system linked as the pacemaker to world climate for millions of years was now gone and replaced by an artificial system within the Gulf of Mexico as of late July, seven degrees Celsius above normals and a totally disconnected Loop Current from the Florida current that then becomes the Gulf Stream.
His conclusion was that 'glaciation' at an unknown pace was inevitable from this disaster.

Just fear mongering and something for the news to talk about..

What would you classify a normal winter as?

S&F! I'm totally with you on this one. I too have been reading about these things and have at least come to the conclusion that the current weather is anything but the 'normal' winter patterns. I could be wrong, but given everything I've been reading about the ocean currents and the air streams, something doesn't seem right.
If what they are saying is true, then we are in for more than just deep snow.

I think I’ll wait a little while longer before deciding that snow and cold weather is not normal in winter...
I’d wait until winter is over to make any decisions as to whether it was “normal”.
If this winter doesn’t end... well then you may have a case.
