Very short thread..
Pornography = makes people look at others as mindless sex machines
Violence = Encourages people to solve all matters with violent ourbursts

Television and games are rife with violence that kids can watch with the typical parents blessing, however, parents become simply flipped out if some flesh is shown (that doesn't have bullets in it).

I am wondering what a general survey is...what is more unacceptable for their little darlings to be exposed to...violence, or sex...and more importantly, why one is ok and the other isn't.

Enjoy

Edit/Add: I do not mean allow exposure to kids, but rather...what shall we remove from adults (and society) to protect the kids.

The whole basic point is for the continuity of humanity, so I side with Violence. Violence will kill us all, and it is the reason we have to be so damn careful during sex. Pornography is not that bad, but then again, you can create or unlock someone's fetish with pornagraphy, which may lead to violence, so I think violence is worse.

i think sex and violence was allways a part of mankind...

they differene today is how they get it....

its up to us to take care of our kids...even when its hard to control...

they have to learn from us how important it is to love .but thats where many people fail.

they happy when the kids shut up so they can watch tv

From that other thread thats removing liberties for all to protect the children from the scary boobies is why the question is asked.

What as adults are we prepared to lose and why so that our rugrats may not be exposed to the horrors of nature..

What we protect from the children = what we remove from adults.

Pornography comes from sexual repression, if you allow pornography, freedom of sexuality and sensuality it wouldnt be an issue. The most messed up kinds of porn are developed in the areas of the world with the highest amount of sexual repression.

Violence is violence, it is a taint that is taught from father to son, mother to child as an instinctual protection.

Violence is dead weight as far as I'm concerned because even if someone was raised without violence, the automatic response to dealing with someone who has been raised in a violent household, is to return their violence.

It is a virus. One that threatens to destroy all that is decent in our world.

It must be stopped. end of story.

It's not nessasary to select one over the other.

A parents job is to teach their child about these things in a proper manner and at the appropriate age.

But alas, it's a mad world we live in...

Violence... That includes violent pornography....

To me sex is something that shouldn't be repressed its how we were all conceived most of us will have it, and its a natural part of life. Violence is unnecessary.

Yes porn of a sort and violence has been around for centuries.
the problem with todays version is it is starting them at a much younger age.
because Sex and violence sells so well now greed is the pusher.
Kinda seems like the same values that caused the fall of Rome.
Hmmm, the historic repetition in the beginning??

I enjoy both and I have no kids. But I don't think one is better or worse for them. Eventually they will be exposed to one of them and chances are it will be in their own home, acted out by their parents.

Violence, without a doubt.

We are born into this world naked, we evolved from a common ancestor from chimps and were always naked, and the whole idea of clothing is a fairly new one. Sex is something that if we did not do we would cease to exist, so why hide it.

Sex is also very enjoyable, so why pretend like it is something that needs to be hidden? Everyone does it (if they can) and it is the most natural thing we have.

Violence on the other hands has been the hinderance of our civilization and will continue to be our downfall. People with the "my dink is bigger than yours" attitude are the people that the world can do without.

Pred...

Yes...romans enjoyed sex...and we enjoy sex...therefore we are just like Rome.

The roman empire did not fall because people liked and expressed freely.
The actual nature of the fall was first off the rise of christianity, the division of the empire from it, and the rise of islam finishing it off.

Of course people like to attribute it to decadance, corruption, etc...this is a meme put forth by religion to control such pleasures.
What they fail to mention is that such decadance and corruption was going on for about 1500 years before its fall with no real problem

A much stronger argument could be that the rise of christianity, aka "banishment of enjoyment" contributed far more to romes fall than any factor whatsoever
