Some of those buildings are beautiful in particular the Art museum at Ordos and the `public` buildings in Zhengzhou New District .

The scale of works is breath-taking.

If I could, I'd buy one of those apartments and live there. I may have to look into it.

very interesting, china does have a booming population, but if it was for example to relocate rural china's population in to a more modern china, they would have started moving populations to these new cities by now.

Do the Chinese "Ghosts Cities" provide more evidence supporting my Ultimate Conspiracy Theory or do they trash the theory.

My theory in a nut shell:
Gleissberg (1939 & 1971) identified an 88 yr cycle in the weather patterns.

Milankovitch published “Astronomical Methods for Investigating Earth’s Historical Climate” in 1938. His work was of great interest especially during the 1963 International Geophysical Year, where Geologists decided to prove or disprove his theory.

George Kukla, together with Robert Matthews of Brown University, convened a conference in 1972 entitled “The Present Interglacial: How and When will it End?”, and reported it in Science magazine... [note the date]

Kukla and Matthews alerted President Richard Nixon, and as a result the US Administration set up a Panel on the Present Interglacial involving the State Department and other agencies. None of us knew then that the mid-century cooling was about to be punctuated by a warming spell from the late 1970s to the mid 1990s.... [again note the dates]

A more definitive confirmation of Milankovitch came in 1976, in a paper by Hays, Imbrie and Shackleton, using Shackleton’s data in the figure above. But long before either that paper or my own, there was widespread behind-the-scenes acceptance of Milankovitch, and Kukla, for one, was concerned about the implications.....

George Kukla: Well almost all of us have been pretty sure that there were only four ice ages, separated by relatively long warm intervals. But now we know that there were twenty in the last two million years. And the warm periods are much shorter than we believed originally. They are something around 10,000 years long. and I’m sorry to say that the one we are living in now has just passed its 10,000 year birthday. That of course means that the ice age is due now any time.

While Kukla and Matthews were alerting President Richard Nixon of their findings , the first Earth Summit (1972) was held lead by Maurice Strong. Strong is a Rockefeller trustee, senior advisor to the World Bank, on the Committee for Global Governance, big oil Mogul, shady businessman, and a Socialist with close ties to China.

Despite the fact that it would not start warming for a few more years, he started the Global Warming Hysteria at the first Earth Summit.

INTERNATIONAL MAN OF MYSTERY: WHO IS MAURICE STRONG?
As Elaine Dewar wrote in Toronto's Saturday Night magazine:

It is instructive to read Strong's 1972 Stockholm speech and compare it with the issues of Earth Summit 1992. Strong warned urgently about global warming, the devastation of forests, the loss of biodiversity, polluted oceans, the population time bomb. Then as now, he invited to the conference the brand-new environmental NGOs [non-governmental organizations]: he gave them money to come; they were invited to raise hell at home. After Stockholm, environment issues became part of the administrative framework in Canada, the U.S., Britain, and Europe.

At the same time in the USA we got OSHA, EPA and the start of the mass exodus of US business.

So do these ghost cities fit in with the theory that TPTB thinks the end of the Holocene is near. Is that why they are stripping the USA and the EU of its wealth and manufacturing base and moving it south? If you believe an Ice Age may be on its way in a few generations culling the "herd" and moving "civilization" towards the equator all of the sudden makes sense. The targets would be:
Mexico - CHECK
Brazil - BOOMING ECONOMY supports the theory.
India - CHECK
CHINA - Maybe
and Africa - working on it.

According to a quick google, ORDOS shows it is a semi-arid grassland and near the limit of the furthest glaciation at 38°N

If I was the central planner, I would try to locate the big manufacturing cities as far north as I could, outfit them with thorium nuclear power and free up precious southern areas for farming. Especially when research by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution suggests

Fossil evidence clearly demonstrates that Earth vs climate can shift gears within a decade....

But the concept remains little known and scarcely appreciated in the wider community of scientists, economists, policy makers, and world political and business leaders. Thus, world leaders may be planning for climate scenarios of global warming that are opposite to what might actually occur...

So now we know the ghost cities are waiting for the next glaciation due when the next huge volcano blows its top.
