Im sorry, folks, but i have to state my own particular belief that the world is a poorer environment with such things a porn influencing people.
The need for porn is somehow lost on me....i fail to see the benefits or the entertainment value of such crap.
I believe this stuff is degrading to all who participate in it, either by watching it or making it.
I do not understand the idea that watching porn is a normal healthy adult entertainment, or that is is harmless fun?
The mental health of all participants is seriously questionable imho.
The whole concept of a healthy society, of balanced people, and a reasonably safe society for all,is called into question, through the entertainment we which we indulge .
I may be a prude, but strippers pose no alure for me, and in fact embarrass the hell out of me.For both the performers, and the audience.
I am not only embarrassed, but sickened by the prurience with which the act of love is embued by such behaviors.from both sides of the stage.
It actually sickens me to watch people perform such degrading acts, and likewise the audience reactions, and obvious relish make me want to puke.
This subject puzzles me as it is counter productive to society to foster attitudes towards others that tend to diminish their humanity and dignity.
To this end, i have never been able to sit through such performances till the end even, nor enjoy them.
I have consitently become so disgusted with same that i invariably leave the premises with a bad taste in my mouth, and a sickened depressed feeling in my gut.
Porn, from the very few minutes ive ever watched it, has an even stronger effect on me.
The cheapening of human dignity, the degradation of the human spirit, seems to be a booming growing business, and passtime for many people.
I dont nessessaily believe in satan, but i do believe in evil, and it is alive and well, in the New Dehumanised World Order.
The systematic lowering of the spiritual worth of the populace fits in nicely with their plans...and is perhaps a cornerstone in the campaign for world dominance of the corporate elite.

I think we are all sexual beings, and therefore sexuality plays a big part in spiritual growth.

I dont see anything "demeaning" about a stripper or adult movie star. It's sexuality, and it's healthy in small doses.

It is certainly not healthy to download adult movies all day, and not leave your house. Or to over-use to the point that you have no interest in your spouse. Like everything else on this silly planet, it should be used in moderation. Hey, too much water can kill you.

Would I be a stripper?? Nope. Not for me. But I dont look down on the people that are. Just like I dont look down on someone who is a carpenter, simply because I wouldnt like being a carpenter.

There is no standard for a "healthy society" as what one person thinks is "healthy" may look like Nazi germany to someone else. Thats why freedom is so important. Thats why Im all for gay rights. Not because I am gay, but the principal of the matter is what concerns me.

Also, too add:

The "Real Housewives" shows are totally immoral and make me sick to my stomach. However, just because I think they are an evil that has set back our society at least a hundred years, doesnt mean that I can get them banned from existence.

Although, they have a much more negative effect on children than adult movies ever could. Who wants their daughter to grow up and be like the "Housewives"

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

I think porn is kind of fun if watched with your partner, but truthfully it's like a busmans holiday for me.

I spend quite a lot of my time at the moment stuck at the PC writing erotica and if I'm not doing that I'm making flyers and things for Fetish clubs. After that porn is the last thing on my mind...

I would rather have a cup of tea and watch the cricket

As for the censorship issue, porn does seem to have taken a rather worrying turn into being unbelievably cruel and misogynistic lately which seems to be a horrible trend to me.
I'm sure most guys got a look at some porn mags and things when they were way under 18 (we all had brothers or dads or friends with a secret stash somewhere) and it didn't do us any harm, but porn has turned into something quite different to it was in the 70's 80's and 90's
I certainly wouldn't want children of mine exposed to the kind of attitude towards women that modern internet porn seems to promote, a lot of it is a portrayal of borderline rape.

If they want to censor porn "for the children" -

What if the parents' work is porn?

What if they need their net porn because they are a video editor or something?

What if you are a photographer and you'd like to sell a picture via the net entitled "My Back Door". Which was not pornographic, and was, in fact, a picture of a door - yet this got censored from being tagged as "pornography"?

They want to censor the net. They'll bill it as "for the children". THIS is what they want.

"The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation."
- Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf

Nice quote!

All sorts of different people seem to be fighting over control of the net at the moment, I wonder how it will all turn out.

As long as they don't take sites like ATS off the net then I'm cool.

I can kind of understand how they can get away with taking extremely offensive porn off the internet but when It comes to sites that are only offensive to the government and not the people, that is a different matter.

Thanks for the picture of braveheart and the caption, made me giggle

Taking porn off the internet offensive or not isn't right. Nobody forces you to go to those porn sites, you choose to. What is offensive to you may be some guys holy grail of porn. I think the porns sites should be labeled a different way yes. I saw something on the news last week where they wanted porn sites to end in "xxx" and that i agree with. I don't think adults should be regulated when it comes to porn. If a man or woman wants to look at porn so be it. Have fun!

Heff....calm down lol put the GUN away!

Hi, nothing in any of the information shown, no interviews that have been printed, talk about taking porn off the internet, not one on on the basis of this particular thread - some of the editorial may allude to it, but that is sensationalising the facts. They all do not say (from the mouth of the person actually giving the interview) banning pornography in homes that include children - that would of course not really work, how would the ISP know you had kids?

The implication discussed is an age restriction system - not letting minors view pornography, or at least not unless they can give false age verification.

I'm sure some people will see this as one more slide down the slippery slope, but I'm not sure I could agree to that.
