I find this article extremely worrying. They allegedly do background checks on potential employees, although clearly not thoroughly enough. But more worryingly, those who engage in such crimes but who have not yet been caught would not be refused by the TSA. It seems possible, therefore, that work with the TSA could become a magnet for such people.

Epidemic of TSA screeners connected with rape, pedophilia and sexual perversion explodes

Yet another TSA worker has been exposed as a pedophile to add the the epidemic of cases that prove those who are inclined to work in jobs that allow them to sexually molest children via invasive groping measures at airports are the most unprofessional, perverted and criminally-minded individuals imaginable.

“A former TSA employee was arraigned on child pornography charges, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone said Thursday,” reports WCVB-TV Boston.

“On Oct. 15, a search warrant was executed at Cheever’s home, where the suspected computer was registered, Leone said. As a result of the search warrant, multiple computers, hard drives and multiple pieces of external digital media were confiscated from the home, Leone said. An onsite preview of the computer and two external hard drives confirmed that Cheever was storing more than 10,000 child porn videos and images, Leone said.”

Cheever’s penchant for looking at naked pictures of children was undoubtedly a perk of the job when he applied to become a TSA screener, given the fact that body scanner images show intricate details of a person’s genitalia.

This is another alarming reminder of the fact that a statistically inflated number of people who are attracted to become TSA workers are criminally perverted.

As we previously highlighted, there is an epidemic of cases where TSA workers have been identified as rapists, sexual predators and pedophiles.

When is enough going to be enough. Don't our children deserve to be protected from this sick violation of their most basic right to safety? They can't protect themselves, it's the most important resonsibility of any adults to protect our children.

The story seems legit and is covered by local Boston news here.

But the assertions made about the safety of children, based upon this one incident are hyperbolic. For example:

A recent investigation by the Associated Press found that sexual abuse of students by the nation's teachers is rampant - yet criminal and civil sanctions to punish this behavior are spotty at best.

Over a five-year period, the AP found more than 2,500 educators whose teaching credentials were revoked or surrendered for student abuse, and found that about half of them were also convicted of crimes related to their misconduct.

So school is still much more dangerous to kids, as a potential sexual abuse, than a TSA - public pat search is.

I'm not so sure that I trust your source, I have grown to seriously distrust Alex Jones and his prisonplanet/infowars brands, as I have found several articles to be completely inaccurate or just out-right false. Maybe everyone should take the reported informartion with a grain of salt.

However, if this is true then of course it is absolutely disgusting, though it goes without saying that there would be pedophiles working for the TSA. That's just a given, as almost anyone can work for the agency after filling out a simple application. I bet that there are many more "agents" with child porn pics on their computers, who haven't been "busted", regardless of the accuracy in this report. I bet that somewhere in this country, there is a TSA agent fondling a child outside of work.

Until we do something about it, if we ever do decide to do something about it, we just have to accept the fact that our government is forcing us to subject our children to the prying eyes or creepy hands of pedophiles through the TSA. This is the kind of thing that happens when a society fails to hold their government officials accountable.

According to investigators, on Oct. 8, Massachusetts State Police detectives conducted an investigation into the use of file-sharing programs for the possession and distribution of child pornographic images and videos. During the investigation, investigators observed a computer on the network which was sharing suspected child pornography files. Investigators were able to connect to the host computer and view multiple files of child pornography that were being made available to share.

On Oct. 15, a search warrant was executed at Cheever's home, where the suspected computer was registered, Leone said. As a result of the search warrant, multiple computers, hard drives and multiple pieces of external digital media were confiscated from the home, Leone said. Looks like they pegged him from his IP on some program like Limewire.

It seems to be a worrying trend.
Although as Heff said the article seems hyperbolic to say the least for example

This is another alarming reminder of the fact that a statistically inflated number of people who are attracted to become TSA workers are criminally perverted.

Yet it doesn't seem to provide those statistics.

As always it's a childs close relatives and parents that remain the biggest risk to them

I am not sure this is a good representation of your typical TSA employee in the same way that a burgler is not a good representation of someone working for a law firm..sure, there can be humorous connections drawn, but otherwise, it is just an anomoly.

The TSA cannot really filter out stuff they do not know about...any one of their employees may be engaging in some sort of illegal activity, however until it is caught...then its simply unknown. That person you sit next to at work may have a secret life as a serial killer...or a prostitute. Does that mean your company should somehow magically know beforehand?

Anyhow. as Heff pointed out...sending a kid to school is far more dangerous than being with them as they get a quick pat down. If your worried that some strange pedophile is going to enjoy patting your kid down..well, I imagine they get far more play being the santa at a shopping mall than a tsa agent quickly shuffling along their work.

Perhaps the agents are not screened well enough - I think their computers and thorough background checks should be very strict. I wonder how many children he patted down before being caught. Sick perv deserves life in prison. Disgusting - I wonder how many others haven't been caught?

Fail statement is fail. I'm surprised that ATS still considers prison planet a source since all they do is put their own spin on everything.

No hyperbole here. Children are being taught to accept being touched up by strangers 'for their own safety'. That's a huge risk to children's safety and no hyperbole.

How many cases of paedophiles amongst TSA workers would it need for you to perceive it as a problem? It's ok with you that children might be touched up by paedos in the name of protecting them? For me, even one is one too many. The writing on the wall here is so obvious....but there is none so blind as those who do not want to see.

OMG - it has to be 'typical' behaviour before it's ok to acknowledge it as a problem?

The TSA cannot really filter out stuff they do not know about...any one of their employees may be engaging in some sort of illegal activity, however until it is caught...then its simply unknown. What kind of logic is that? If we are talking about employees who touch people's genitals, yes. They should know everything. They already snoop on all of us, our emails, phone calls, etc, so yes, they SHOULD know.
Children are our most precious ressource and their protection from this sick situation is paramount.

Ok, so that's alright then. They are turning a blind eye to paedos in schools, so let's also turn a blind eye to children's genitals being groped by strangers, who may also be paedophiles. That makes everything nice and comfortable for those who want to delude themselves that the world is nice, and they can stay in their comfy space and not worry about a thing.

So you won't be objecting to the next part of the plan either, which will be legalising paedophilia, as they are already trying to do in Germany.

I think your jumping to conclusions
basically I am saying that employeers are not psychics...if your doing something off hours that nobody knows about, that can't really be filtered out.

As far as how many before something happens...well, how many hoops do santa's have to go through before parents toss their tots on their lap. That personally makes me far more skeptical than some person thinking he will be able to feel the pant leg of some little boy now and then with their parents right next to them..I can name off perhaps a half dozen "creepy" jobs that are accepted as the norm.

Germany is trying to legalize what? wtf...and well, thats germany, I can't pretend to understand how they do things there
(ya, you can tell I have no kids...fairly detatched)

I am simply saying that overreactions should not be the rule here. if a teacher has sex with a student, we do not need to ban teachers...when a tsa agent is caught with underage porn, no need to remove the tsa, and if santa in wyoming tries to subtly dry hump junior, it doesn't mean santa's everywhere should be banned...individual situations...yes, there needs to be alot of pre-screening when it involves direct contact with kids..but really, beyond that, shyte happens...the government will never be able to make everyone safe forever without it involving locking everyone up into rooms with no contact with one another...this is what parenting is for.

what is more worrying is that people just read the news and take it "as is". No one ever has any imagination. No one ever reads between the lines and suspects conspiracy.
He was really stupid enough to have 10k??? Nah I hate child pornagraphers but this just smells fishy. What does the Ex-Tsa agent know??? Must be something important!

And I'm saying it's not an over-reaction, it's a cause for serious concern. The comparison with santa is frankly ridiculous. Stay comfy in your rationalisations that everything's ok and in any case, even if it isn't, there's nothing can be done about it so no need to worry.
