Why the h**l ain't there more cops like you out there? Too many are no more than thugs in a uniform! They kept asking him if he was alright???? Why shouldn't he be? And kept telling him "good job"!! I say shoot him. When did it become illegal to carve wood in public? I carry a knife with me ALL the time and carry a gun at times also. LEGALLY!

To protect and serve?

Would he had been as quick to shoot if it had been a beautyful girl ? His father ? A small child ?

This is nothing to do with cops, Afghanistan or Iraq veterans. This is to do with the United States cruel system where little children are indoctrinated to believe that some people are of more worth than others and they are treated as so.

This cop is like a little boy, who knows he did wrong. Listen to him :"But but but daddy the man had a knife i swear, he was gonna harm meeee, please don't hurt me." Also unable to think and act for himself.

We don't have this sickness in socialist countries but the plague is spreading through media and television. The country i grew up in has slowly become more like the USA and it's very scary. They just call it the EU.

This is the sort of crap that makes people hate the USA.

Anyways i hope they give this man the same death senteance they would any other murderer, but somehow i doubt it. People won't stop hating the USA untill this sort of thing is unacceptable. The cop should've been arrested on the spot.

I hope he gets lots of manlove in jail. Mister last action hero. LOL. What a scumbag.

Officer (loose reference) Birk is a murderer. Plain and simple. He no longer deserves his "constitutional" rights, all of which he forfeited when he killed the victim. He and his cronies, I feel planned this. He got the short straw.

Right after it happened, vague comments were mentioned that Birk had been reprimanded prior to this incident for several other infractions, and only got a slap and some time off...but that info quickly disappeared. The man is a liar.

You can listen to the audio and hear someone ask, "where is your car?" "Is your audio/video still on?" "do you want me to (garble)"..."No, give me your mike, we can fix all this later" "Just leave it like it is for now." Found this interesting.

Notice, Birk says he feared for his life....and yet he was in his car. Why could he not have stayed in the car, driven alongside the carver, honked his horn....used his loud speaker and told him to stop....used a taser. This was never the plan. His car was around the corner so there was NO VIDEO that could be used against him. Audio is a lot easier to manipulate than video. Very obvious

There were several run ins with the "carver". I truly feel that his life line was sped up. LEO's dealing with the carver when he was not at his best and had been drinking quite heavily more than likely wanted nothing more to do with his shenanigans and decided they would "help" him on his way to the Creator. This last bit is my gut feeling, I know what some cops can do when they don't want to deal anymore with the public....and it definitely isn't pretty....but they sure know how to keep their mouths shut, and not one will "rat" on another if it could in the least involve them. It will be buried!

If Birk doesn't get prison time for what he did...then just as I believe not only is Justice blind, she is also deaf, dumb, and stupid...she might as well be dead. Then again, what goes around comes around....and Birk will pay for what he did...one way or another.

Have their been any protests against this officers police department for paying a murderer ? Have their been a single human being overthere who felt this was worthy of his time to protest ?

I doubt it.

Please prove me wrong. I beg you.

Noone in the USA cares about eachother. This is the country where a woman died in the hospital waiting room while doctors just strolled on by.

I don't know what's up, but somethings very rotten in that whole mindset and they're all being manipulated into thinking socialism is bad. LOL. I am angry to my bones that this murderer is recieving pay.

If Liberalism and freedom is the freedom to not give a hoots about anyone, they can take their so called "freedom" and keep it. Freedom tower. LOL. Pathetic really.

Oh yeah and the whole Fox news spin ? SICK. How can it be, how can they let it be ?

I'm like you. I thought it was "odd" them taking his mick away and putting it in the car as fast as they did. Looked to me like a cover up. The problem is that the citizens DON'T have that luxury.

i have a great deal of respect for those who help to keep us safe but even i can see this is a gross display of general disregard for human life. i have 5.1 on my pc, and i turned the volume way up, yea we cant see whats going on off screen but the passersby can. You can hear them saying "call an ambulance" which he doesnt and questioning why he even shot him. this turns my stomach, eventually even the laziest of the population is going to get tired of being treated like cattle. >: (

Yes, right after this happened, quite a few whites as well as native americans and friends of the carver marched and demonstrated against what happened...and still you will find someone always on the corner where it happened carrying a sign making people aware of what happened.

There is also a native american adviser involved with the police dept.

Please dont make statements like that...your lucky you dont have to deal with those type of situations. "Of course" you cant see...look....he gave good verbal commands.."put the knife down" at least 3 times...thats all we know 100 percent. If he turned on the Officer with a knife..that is the correct response. Yes, there is Officer discretion at that point, however, there is something called a "21 foot rule", a person can brandish a knife and place it squarely in your ribcage at 21 feet before you can clear a holster. It is unfortunate, but more than likely a good shooting..so please refrain from making comments that puts the Officer in a bad light. I have also seen many many vidoes that look like a bad shooting that are actualy 100 percent justified, without knowing all the facts and or being there, we just dont know.

Thanks

thanks for reading...and true that....the citizen doesn't ever get the luxury. Heard something in a law school class...NEVER talk to the police. The explanation was very logical....doesn't matter what you say...joe citizen will always loose out to the cop....the cop will make it sound like the whole crime/situation was joe citizen's fault and no one...the jury, judge, or other police officers will believe anything different....there is your justice.

Ever wonder why lawyers are so disliked?

A lot of the newer generation of police now days are veterans of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan where they learned by example that the human life is worth nothing, they are nothing more than targets for them.

A lot of younger police officer's are veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. A lot of departments are actively persuing vets because they are in shape and use to following orders. They are use to high stress situations as well. Those are good atributes. However, the military does not equip a person with the right mind set to be a cop.

A retired cop once told me, "A cop's job is to detain the suspect, figure out if he likely broke any laws, and make sure justice is served. He either releases the person or takes them to jail so they can stand trial. That is what we are supposed to do. We aren't there to force our will on the people."

That isn't what the military trains people to do. The military trains you to eliminate "targets" that you believe pose a reasonable threat. The job isn't to detain enemies, unless they actively surrender and ask for mercy. The job is to eliminate the enemy.

It is real hard for somebody trained in the latter to perform like a cop. I am not bashing cops or soldiers. They both serve a vital role in our society. However, the heads of police departments need to realize, being good at one thing doesn't make you a master of the other.

I like your dad's explination of what it take to be a good cop. I wish their were a few dozen more like him to go around.

Thanks.

That is heartwarming to know.

I can't believe this guy is recieving paychecks from the pd.

I pray the justice loving people of America will find a way to deal with these problems.

I am not sure if you are reading the posts by others, but it is said he was partially deaf. Also it was within 3 to 4 seconds of leaving the squad car that shots were fired. If the officer kept his distance why would he have reason to believe the man was charging. Is it not common sense to stay away from a threatening suspect? The man did not have time to charge in the time the officer left his vehicle to the time shots were fired.

Also the officer put himself in that situation regardless. The man was minding his own business not threatening anyone, just carving his wood. I recommend watching the video.

Why? Because this is what our society is producing. These cops that you are getting now are a product of "timeouts" no corporal punishment. These are the kids that instead of getting their hides tanned got medication for there behavorial problems. These are the latch key kids that received no parental guidence when growing up. These are the kids that never faced consequences for their actions. And now they are cops. They lack judgement, respect, compassion, and consideration for others.
Yes, we are becoming a police state and yes, police have too much authority and yes, they abuse it.
Know your rights and stand up for them, but don't get shot by some idiot wearing a badge and a gun in the process. Pick and choose your battles wisely and fight them on your own terrority. Use the chain of command and keep going up it until you find someone with a brain.
I hope this POS cop gets put under the prison for life, but more than likely he will not. I would like to apologize for all of my colleagues who are idiots and the oppression that they put on us all. I wish I could tell you that it will change, and it will, but for the worse.

Looks like a hit job if you ask me, and someone must've assured this fella was going to get away with it, without telling him he wouldn't be a cop anymore...

This man shot 5 times within seconds of horribly catching his attention... that's like me just calling your name out and telling you to drop the soda in your hands, and before your mind has a second to register what the hell im talking about, boom boom boom boom boom...

You don't shoot someone 5 times to disarm a knife-bearer... 1 shot is plenty enough, in the leg, in the arm, doesnt even need to be the chest... this was a hit man... or this guy was srsly pissed off at Mr. Williams.

This is the sort of gullibility that is the backbone of the USA. Anyone with a HEART,KNOWS this is wrong. No vision needed. Anyone with a HEART can detect the wrongness.

Your "21 foot rule" is rubbish. It's lame excuses and paranoid thinking.

"Omg i had to shoot the guy in the back, i mean what if the drunkard was secretly a trained ninja from china who could place the knife in my head without blinking."

"Oh and Iraq might nuke us, so it's okay that we go and slaughter them before they MIGHT do it."

"Oh and the man overthere looked at me funny, so it was okay that i shot him because there's this thing in psychology it's called the 3 second eye contact rule and if you look into someones eyes more than 3 seconds it's considered aggressive."

And you suck it up. "What do i know? Nothing. I know nothing, i have no comment, i have nothing to say, i'm worthless, i'm ignorant, but these smart people do."

RUBBISH.

Put and end to it.

Policemen where i'm from take beatings themselves without shooting anyone because they arent weak little pussies with a gun and no heart, but this cop had to shoot this raggedy drunken looking stranger in the back for carving his wooden board.

You sir are a complete tool.

poor guy didn't even have a chance to drop it. that was an execution, you can tell by the agressiveness of the shots fired he was out to kill him.

lets give him a medal, one less panhandler annoying people with their poverty and hopelessness.

Jesus would be proud. God bless him and his family and may he be enjoying the fruits of Heaven.
