I am a woman 49 been married 22 years. I stand next to yet behind my husband. He works I stay home cook for him, do the shopping,he and I both clean our home, spend his money. The real wifey thing. HE is the happienst married man at work, there are over 200 men at his job. we camp-fish and hunt together. Yet I would never nor do I want to strip his man pride from him. ANd believe me I could if I so choose to. This decision me staying home was a two way deeeply discussed decission. I myself have a very very happy husband who is deeply proud of his wife. Yes we have marital problems, who dont? But I quarantee my marriage is probably much stronger then she who also works lets the nanny or grandparent or daycare raise her child. I pump my husbands ego, I try with great effort not to belittle him. Of course I am human and have my faults and I do say words I highly regreat. but 22 years later personally I see no divorce in my future.

You have a lot of opinions on something you know nothing about. I have no quarrel with the stay at home mom. However, many seem to have a quarrel with me.

I need not bow to a man for him to be happy. I truly like my husband for who he is. I demand no sacrifice beyond that which gets us what we are looking to create together.

I don't know about the initial post....But I can tell you that "feminism" is under attack. And the media IS trying to influence the way women think and act. In America the "woman" is being turned into a whore. You can see this in fashion and music. Commercials music videos. Books and movies. All under the guise of new fashion and style, etc....

Actually, the problem is, "feminism" has no clear role anymore.
Some say a feminist..or female equals, are destroyed by "whorish" attitudes women put them in, whereas other feminists say that the fact that they can do this without being arrested or whatnot is a positive sign.

I am on the side of women being women. showing off their goodies is a good sign of them not fearing fulfulling some old school keep your attributes hidden so men can work psychology. A man wears a suit, grooms himself, and joins fitness centers to attract the opposite sex. We know what generally women enjoy seeing..and women know what men enjoy seeing (again, generally...not all the time). To me, this is equality without forgetting your gender.

turn on the television and you may see tons of images of girls in skintight jeans, or low cut blouses...omg, flesh..my soul dies a bit.
then take a moment and get over yourself...you will see beside them, men completely topless, showing off almost every part of them...this is normal..because of course the slight difference in shape of the mans breast is totally non sexually stimulating, a woman..yep, she needs to cover up and be ashamed.

no...expressing sexuality, contrary to popular belief, has typically been acceptable by men, and shunned when women do it. a proper feminist would be supporting strippers, porn stars, and hollywood glam sex symbols as strongly as they would a doctor or politician being female..brain and body both are nothing they should feel ashamed of when its perfectly acceptable for men to do it. This is what equality is...not some brains only, still feel ashamed of your wardrobe malfunctions.

Alot of people think feminism is still somehow relevant...and in some areas, they are (fighting for equal pay at work for the same job being done, things like that..technicals)
When womens lib starts dictating how women should act...that is actually the exact opposite of what their philosophy is.

A liberated woman has choice...thats it..some choose to be power business women, and more power to them, some choose to be housewives, and that is great. Some may choose to be single, married, or a collared slave in someones collection..all are perfectly valid choices so long as it is their choice

in the same way a man can be anything mentioned also. there is only one contingency of social equality...and that is unobstructed choice of what you want to be.

hmmmmm...m husband works with about 200 peoples, at least 175 are men In the past 22 years I have been on his worksite a couple-a-few times. separately where he is not listening or near me I have been told, he never speaks ill words about me...makes ya wonder why a man would speak ill words about his woman...

Ya, but your a woman...a guy around a bunch of traditionalist guys whom suggests he is basically the housewife = endless slams about aprons, skirts, pantyhose, and all that...but it is all done in good fun for the most part.

I think women may be a bit more vicious towards their counterparts in this regard.
