I wish I could obtain medical services in the US, God knows I've been trying. Unfortunately I have been unsuccessful due to my economic status. The Obamacare stuff actually makes it harder for poor people to receive medical attention, I should be getting my first notice of violation in January or February fining me $1000 for not having medical insurance. I can't even get a hand injury which prevents me from getting work treated. So, seeing a physician is out of the question for me, unless one wants to volunteer. But the first thing they would have to do is treat my hand injury before anything else. The vibraty feeling doesn't make me unhirable. The hand injury is what keeps me from working. I was more curious as to whether or not anyone else has experienced this vibraty feeling too.

Reason why I said I think it's a muscle spasm is because I used to get it a lot when I was pregnant, in my belly! I'd be like "
what the....I think the baby has a phone in there!" - but the midwife told me it was quite common and that it was just muscle spasms!

I am sure we can continue in this thread, assuming we are staying on topic, feel free to u2u if not.

To add to my last post, I work in logistics and travel a lot, I am in and out of vehicles and businesses all day and sometimes I keep my phone in my pocket and sometimes I leave it in the vehicle.

If I have music on in the vehicle I can feel my phone vibrate when somebody calls. Sometimes I can feel it vibrate and when I look at it nobody has called, other times the phone will be on the dash or centre console and I can feel it vibrate in my pocket although it is not there.

I have also felt it vibrate in my pocket when I have left it in the vehicle and I am away from the vehicle, only to find that when I returned somebody had called

My phone has a distinct pattern of vibrating, six times and then it hangs up, it is always the same even the phantom vibrate is six times.

I quite often can guess who is calling before I look at my phone and I have a lot of contacts.

And quite often I will think somebody is going to phone me and within seconds my phone is ringing, probably around twenty odd times I have even thought of the actual person who is going to call, (it has usually been my mother).

I have always thought it was strange, but I cant explain it other than being crazy so I have to dismiss it. I am sure I am not the only one.

Kind regards S_G

Well that sucks. I tend to forget how fortunate I am to have a husband with great insurance. Without that, there is NO WAY that I could have been seen, let alone diagnosed as it has taken multiple MRI's, blood work and doctor visits to different specialists. After all that thousands of dollars, it came down to the same diagnosis I had assigned myself before it all began. The reality of it is the only benefit I have in knowing, is how to better treat myself. I am not so bad that I require any medication (thank God), but since I am armed with the knowledge of what I have and what triggers my symptoms I know what to avoid and have made many lifestyle changes.

I am wondering if perhaps these symptoms may have correlated with your hand injury? Or maybe got worse after? Injuries are a stressor that can trigger MS and other neurological symptoms. If you are able, I suggest you look up paresthesia and known causes. Also, neurological conditions and see if any of it applies to you.

No, the hand injury is a few years old now. I would think that the symptoms would have started before then. I also did some digging in the Phantom Cellphone Syndrome thing and it tends to get at people who could be described as "cellphone junkies" which I definitely do not fit the description of. I do not accept text messages of any kind, and will not talk on the phone for more than 120 seconds. I also discourage all my friends from "just calling to chat" and warn them that my phone is for business uses only. I frequently hit ignore on calls from my dumber friends who can't get the "I won't chat on my phone" idea through their skulls.

I went for many years without having a cellphone (or phone of any kind) and recently got this prepaid phone about 4 months ago. I have used less than 800 minutes in that time. So we're not even talking about 10% of the typical cellphone usage for the average American. I'm kinda like the guy who calls himself a smoker even though he only smokes 5 or 6 cigarettes a day instead of a pack and a half or two (which I am that guy).

These are definitely different than the muscle spasms I am used to. Being male, I wouldn't know what interpartum spasms feel like, however, these are not like any "spasm" I've ever had before.

I "AM" getting into my middle age period, just cresting over my mid-30's, so maybe this is one of those "just getting older and body acting different" things, it's just so totally weird.

I generally use my cellphone once every other day or so and generally the calls are outgoing rather than incoming. I only receive a phone call every three days or so. Usually only once a week.

My thought on this was, perhaps your brain is processing what you hear as a nervous system response. This is kind of how accupuncture works from my understanding of it. What area of the body they work on might seem totally unrelated to the problem area but it is all connected by our "electronic" nervous system, or accupuncture meridians. The brain is endlessly facinating. This problems sounds far less troublesome then those folks that pick up radio signals with their dental fillings but sort of in that same body strange catagory.

Happens to me all the time. Oddly enough though, it always happens on the opposite side of where I am wearing my phone case.

OMG, YES!!!!! I haven't read the whole thread yet but I had to go ahead and reply. I thought I was crazy. (Well, I still may be.) But mine is always in the same place. I always swear I feel my phone vibrating in my pocket so I reach down and my phone isn't there. This happens ALL the time. I don't know what it is. I will read the thread now and maybe someone has an idea of what it is.

To the OP! Last night i was sitting down in the kitchen and i thought my phone was vibrating in my left pocket. I went to go check and there was NOTHING there. I was in total OMFG mode. That wasn't the first time it had happened, however, it was the most distinct. I find it very strange, or may i say wild that i come to ATS to read a post about this same exact phenomenon. Today i have noticed that the parts a bit lower than my hip are in pain when i touch them, but no bruising. Anyone else feeling this too?

I am really interesting in finding out what this is all about. Thank You. -alex.

BTW, I have been a cellphone user for a while now... and i can tell you, this is completely new to me.
Keep in mind, i did mention some pain on both thighs, any pain on your thighs or friends thighs?

Yeah, same here, i experienced it too, very funny because i was walking and felt my cellphone going off but actually forgot my cellphone at home, but it was the exact same vibrational feeling. Never really found an explanation for it.

This brought a smile, others share what is happening to me. I get very few calls, mostly to my wife's phone so I am not addicted to the phone. However over the last month, I feel the vibration of the phone in my pocket and actually reach down to retrieve it when it is not there. Most of the time it is in the pocket area but other times on the back of the leg, but usually where I carry the phone. Odd.

Very odd! The past 2 or 3 weeks i have been having a sensation in my left leg, asked my girlfriends mom who is a nurse, she told me its nothing, and i asked my doctor, because i was thinking maybe has to do with a clogged artery or something, and he told me... its nothing to worry about. But it seems to have the same rhythm as a cell phone. Usually muscle spasms have to do with low potassium, but i wouldnt compare this to a twitch in the eye.

First Post!

Yes, I keep my phone in my front pocket sometimes. After I remove it there will be spot vibrations for several hours afterwards. This happen on whatever side I keep the phone in right of left...there will be vibrations in that spot when no phone is there but it does go away in time.

i usually feel it at parties when music is louder than what my phones ringtone is. i guess it could be my subconscious thinking im getting a call cause most songs have riffs that sound like my ring tone. i have muscal spasms all the time and thats what they fill like. could just be coincidence that it happens around my pocket. idk
