I knew it... I knew it... I f'ing KNEW IT. This is because Syfy wouldn't know how to interpret viewer stats even if they were scrawled down on a paper place-mat with crayons.

Seriouisly, first Caprica (girly, I know.. but me and my girl love it) now SG:U?! Examine the Caprica situation: take more than 1/2 a year off, MID-SEASON, and wonder "why, oh god WHY did the ratings fall?"

It might have to do with your sketchy mid-season breaks, Syfy...

I'm going to dissent on the praise for SGU. The story is good, but the cinematography SUCKS.

I can't take an hour of every shot being too close to determine whats going on while the cameraman has some kind of epileptic seizure and shakes the camera the entire time. That is really bad cinematography. BAD.

Ya, SG:U plays heavy on BSG camera style... prolly a lot of the same crew imo.

But ya... I feel in love with serial-drama through BSG and I was really enjoying SG:U.
They were *just* about to get into some AWESOME stuff... why YHWH, WHY?!

I could have totally got into SGU if the cheesy cinematography style didn't give me vertigo. That camera "style" just covers for cheap scenes and lack of creative camera ideas. It's a shame that good stories are coupled with that impossible to watch camera work.

Might be why the ratings are low and its getting canceled. It is rough to watch, like taking a blender to my brain.

it was only like that in the early episodes. They improved it as the show progressed. IMO the cinematography was great, dont know people complain about it. didnt see anyone complain when BSG or even the shield used it.

Well I tried to watch it and it wasn't that great. I loved the other series and well I can see why it's being cancelled but it does suck when something you like gets cancelled. They have done that with some of my favorite shows..

I know a few members who will have a heart attack over this.

Exactly... for me, that style of camera work just immerses me more in the show. You can sort of allow yourself to be there and experience running along side someone, etc..

One BSG tactic I *did not* like was the sound bites they used for cigarettes/smoking... sounded like a damn fireplace about to explode. snapcracklenpop.

It's TV and he can title it how he likes!

lmao

"Boring news: My cat scratched" would be a worse title.

They beat that story line to death.

The first series was good and I did watch on occasion but they just kept going and going, and going.

"Lets take a original storyline, and ruin it".

"Sounds,good to me."

There will come along another storyline that the mindless dweebs that write television shows will exploit.

I don't know about that.. SG1 and SG:A had their long runs, but SG:U gets the snip just as it gets interesting?
The difference between SG:U and the other Stargates is that SG:U is a serial drama, whereas SG1/Atlantis was campy/fanboy fodder (imo).

That still didn't stop me from getting redic. addicted to SG:A... MCKAAAYY!!

Sad, sad, sad. I personally enjoyed the show and LOVE Robert Carlyle in just about all he has done. I will look forward to the 2nd half of this season though and only hope they can make a wrap up episode that airs eventually to tie up the loose ends... there will be a bunch.

Now, who wants to speculate on the next SG venture, or even if there will be one?

I saw a post on some other site noting that this will be the first time since like '97 that there will not be a new/current SG show on air. That is what sucks.
