However as they wave goodbye to the Predator they wave hello to the Reaper that is supposed to be far more capable than the Predator. Sometime in 2011 the Air Force will take delivery of its last Predator. They will continue to fly the Preadator's. But as they age, break, etc they will be replaced by the Reaper.

One of the main differences is the Predator was first built to observe, and later modified to kill. The Reaper was build to kill off the bat.

Air Force Is Through With Predator Drones

Unlike the Predator, the Reaper is no accidental warrior. Also built by General Atomics, it flies twice as fast (150-170 knots cruising, 260 max), at higher altitudes (around 50,000 feet), and carries ten times the payload (over 2 tons) as the Predator. That allows it to strap on the AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, as well as GBU-12 and GBU-38 precision bombs. And as a surveillance aircraft, it’s got more electrical power than the Predator, which means “we can integrate new or improved sensors on the aircraft,” Johnson says.

The Air Force already has 57 of the Reapers. Of course, the CIA also has drones but they aren't saying what they have or where they got them.

We do know that waiting in the wings is the Avenger Drone which was unveiled last year. Its far more stealthy and faster than the Reaper. Want to bet the CIA already has a few of these?
