With word of a decent snow coming and last night and into today, I just couldn't help myself but to go get some photos. This is the first decent snowfall that we here in West Virginia have had this year. This does not include the two inches of snow that we received this past Monday. Seeing as to how I couldn't get out to get any photos on Monday. Last night and into today, we received six to seven inches of snow here in the Charleston, WV area. Which made for a messy commute as usual.

Cool pictures..especially the first one.

I think the Northeast is the only part of the country that hasn't had snow. I almost want some...almost.

All I can say is this............................

You guys are in for it this weekend!!!

This storm is supposed to strengthen out over the Atlantic and then head for the Nawtheast and the Canadian Maritime. At least that is what the educated guessers at the National Weather Service and the Weather Channel are saying.

Thanks for sharing your great photos.

I'm in Denver and we just haven't had anything this year. Had a dusting on the ground this morning but only after losing most of it to rain yesterday... rain, Denver, December... just not things that go together.

As annoying as it can be, really miss not having some on the ground as we get closer to Christmas. Just doesn't seem right somehow.

My pleasure sharing the photos and thank you.

Rain, Denver, and December just doesn't sound right in the least of bit. Don't you guys usually have about six to eight inches on the ground by now? I just find it odd that you're saying where you live at in Denver doesn't have any on the ground. We've got maybe six to seven inches out of this storm in, I believe, just four hours or so.

Oh boy.........

That sucks big time, my brother is a nursing assistant at one of the hospitals here. He said that it wasn't too bad today since he's been on mornings for the past week. What can i say though, he works at the cardiac hospital here so he's not gonna see too much of the snow-related accident sorts.

At least it will cover the dead grass up so that you can't see it.

Last night, we received two more inches of snow to cover the ground in and around the Charleston, WV area. The two inches last night was just a prelude to tonight through Monday with the additional four to six inches forecast.

Wow that's such a nice scene and a cool house.
A house like that around here would cost £1million plus

I didn't get a chance to take any pictures of the snow this year, but these are from last year.
The place is Hampstead Heath a large bit of park land that is right next to my house

Rising Against,

That is what the entire east coast and the Mid-Atlantic States look like tonight.

Chances are they will still look like that by Wednesday or Thursday.

UK.......
Don't worry hun, this thread will be around all winter long.

It wasn't too bad, and I got to and from work ok.

The wind was so strong it blew all the snow off the front lawn and now the ugly brown grass still shows.

We got off easy down here as well, in fact we missed the main storm by about 400 miles. Even though it missed us, we still got about six inches of lake effect snow coming off of Lake Erie and I'm about 300 miles to the south of it!!!
It sucks that the revealed the ugly brown grass again though.

Got some more pictures from over the weekend with the six inches that we got on Friday night and into Saturday. I'm standing out in temperatures around ten above 0 with a windchill of somewhere around zero on the temperature scale.

Went out on Saturday afternoon hoping to get a few pics of something moving through the snow. This was the only thing that came through when I was out the first time on Saturday. Besides, who really needs JUST ONE horse to dash through the snow anyway??
