Why don't you just say you want the government to have nothing to do with the holidays instead of saying you want them straight out banned?

What makes you think there's something wrong with the government endorsing a holiday? Or praying at the White House? As long as Congress doesn't make laws respecting an establishment of religion, we're Okey Dokey. They have not established a national religion. And they also celebrate other religious holidays.

There's no problem here.

And Christmas is also a secular holiday.

OK, The United States, same as us Canada was founded and still governed by christiens. Well, most of them anyway. Live and let live budy. I for one prefer having christmas...I do say "Bah Humbug with a smile" but that's because of the commercialism and capitalism that ensues. But think of the kids. the smile it puts on their little faces. If you don't celibrate Christmas that's fine too. Just don't come and crash our party.

I think there shouldn't be any money spent on any holiday, nor for any holiday. Everything should be community based with these things, and bring the community together! Screw money!

I pretty much agree with everyone else. While I think Christmas is extremely overcommercialized, I don't think it should be banned all together. Some of my best memories from my childhood are from Christmas and being with family I don't get to see on a regular basis. If you don't like it, don't celebrate it. Why should the rest of us who enjoy it have to suffer because you're a debbie downer? That's a no-go there bud.
