On August 1, 2010, an entire hemisphere of the sun erupted. Filaments of magnetism snapped and exploded, shock waves raced across the stellar surface, billion-ton clouds of hot gas billowed into space. Astronomers knew they had witnessed something big.

It was so big, it may have shattered old ideas about solar activity.

"The August 1st event really opened our eyes," says Karel Schrijver of Lockheed Martin’s Solar and Astrophysics Lab in Palo Alto, CA. "We see that solar storms can be global events, playing out on scales we scarcely imagined before."

More and more news is coming out about the Sun. Reading through the article it is noted that the Sun is more electromagnetic in nature breaking the paradigm that we are taught about it being nuclear. The attached video is breath taking. In the lower left corner you can even see the dipole magnetic action with the magnetic flux lines just before the CME erupts.
As a novice to this, it is exciting to see something so beautiful on such a large scale. The size of this is across half the visable surface (the size of 10 earths or more).

Huge..Glad it was aimed away..
Wonder what this will do to the Electric Universe theory..
Or gravity as magnetic attraction rather that the volume theory...
