Sandia TTR website

Well I see the TTR now has an official website. Can the official Groom Lake website be next? ;-)

There is a UFO sighting that might be related to the TTR. Here is the link. However if you want to discuss this UFO, please start another thread. I rather have this thread dedicated to the official TTR website rather than distracted by an old though very interesting UFO. Now many UFOs were videotaped by military contractors.

Nellis maybe TTR UFO

B-52 60-0049 at the TTR

The 49th Test and Evaluation Squadron at Barksdale AFB, La., perfects lethality by executing conventional and nuclear Operational Test & Evaluation, directing Nuclear Weapon Systems Evaluation Program and developing tactics, techniques and procedures to maximize B-52 readiness, optimize CAF integration, and validate national defense capabilities. The 49th TES executes conventional OT&E to increase B-52 capabilities through improvements in sensors, weapons, communications, and navigation systems. The squadron also plans, executes, analyzes, and reports ACC's $50 million annual air-delivered NucWSEP (Combat Sledgehammer). Reliability data for nuclear capable aircraft (B-52, B-2, F-15 and F-16) and weapons (all nuclear bombs and cruise missiles) is reported to USSTRATCOM for inclusion in their annual strategic war plan update. The 49th TES is the Air Force's premier cruise missile test organization, launching approximately 6-12 conventional and nuclear cruise missiles each year.

Checking this map, it appears that the first building encountered when entering the TTR from the Cedar Gate are owned or run by Lockheed Martin.

route to the TTR via Cedar Gate

The guard shack is located at 37°44'31.76"N 116°13'32.70"W
Thirteen miles out (based on the map) is 37°44'8.40"N 116°28'4.39"W
Looking at the map, I would say they mean the buildings at 37°44'11.48"N 116°29'46.20"W

Note that map incorrectly lists one of the roads as 118. It is actually 318. When the base reads this post, maybe they will fix the map. ;-)
edit on 25-12-2010 by gariac because: added note about map error

TTR open for business

I dug this up in a Sandia newsletter. It appears that the "openess" for the Sandia portion of the TTR has been in the works prior to their website going online.

Note that the TTR has Sandia and USAF elements. The USAF thus far isn't upping its public image regarding the base.
