Apartment Kids Exposed to More Tobacco Smoke
abcnews.go.com...

The saying DUH big green truck come's to mind.

Why not do a study on how rich people that get fat..live in studio apartment's...with children..
are more pron to gas poisoning lol

would you rather sit next to a smoker for 5 minute's.
OR
sit next to a family of rich snob's farting on you?
I would rather sit next to the smoker....

cig and food= good
fart and food= taste's like crap.

So i say we ban fat people from restaurant's rich and poor so i can eat without smelling there butt gas.

I am just sayign demonizing smoker's pisses me off anyways...
If they want to smoke let em...
A car puts of more toxins than a cig just by starting it up...yet you let ya kids ride to school int he gas burning bus.

The conspiracy here is simple...
People who do not smoke or do not eat fast food want to make your life like there's...BORING AS HELL.
plain and simple...
Life is not worth living if you can not live how you want...

This is a bias report against lower economic people to gain more rigid control over their lives as they prepare to place them all in FEMA style housing in the future. This is not about children living in deplorable conditions and that are exposed to smoke via other avenues such as in public places, others homes, in the car or any of the other places these children have been exposed. I bet they used children of a higher socioeconomic level to represent those living in homes where noone has ever smoked.

Something about this report feels off to me.

(I agree children should be kept from any and all smoke that adults use.)

I got thrown out of a building last week for using one of those new electronic smokeless cigs (my girlfriends).
I waited until they called security to do anything but it was easier to just walk away.

Can't wait to try this on a plane!

In my area in Sydney recently,
They have banned smoking outside of coffee shops. Well outside of any shops.

You can no longer buy a coffee and have a smoke outside and talk with friends.

This was the councils decision.

I'm pretty upset about this. I mean did they ask us? Did they take a community poll?
Someone up there in the council just seemed to have decided that - 'I smelt smoke when I was walking down the street today. It really pissed me off. Ban smoking + coffee for everyone!'

I don't know why people are more ready to accept restrictions, rather than freedoms.

Dont feel bad i bought into that e cig stuff too.
i figured it help me quit smoking and not hurt anyone when i smoke it.

Bu ti got threw out of a bar while drinking lol
for smoking a ecig..
some snotty rich people complained...
But what was ironic was the bouncer was dipping and spitting on the floor lol

So to each there own it figures
And it is a conspiracy....
cause it is a form of segregation..which is illegal.
accept the new people to hate is not the African Americans its the smoker's.

If it's so bad make them illegal.....
otherwise they shouldn't be able to stop us from smoking where ever they sell them at.

What is really crazy is many moons ago when I was living a different life style in NYC they had non-smoking buildings which even on the sidewalk was banned.
Well some of these buildings had private gentlemen's clubs, not strip club but more like a cigar club for elitist fatheads, which I was unfortunately a member of a few at the time, for business reasons. You couldn't see who you were talking to at some points, from the smoke. Yet it always amused me when I left that the doormen would chase away any smoker hanging out near the front door outside. I was like, don't go up stairs any time soon then!

I agree with how this eats you up. I'm a non-smoker and think it's ridiculous. There are all sorts of pollutants in the environment. Blaming tons of things on smokers is kind of ridiculous, but I swear it seems like that's what we're heading towards.

I'm a smoker of 34 years .. so far, and I recognise it is my bad habit which I am not prepared to give up just yet.

At the same time I absolutely refuse to smoke around children in any environment.. not in my house, another smoker's house, in my car, or walking along the street.. it is My bad habit and not anyone else's so I do not have the right to inflict my smoke on anyone else.

I hate walking through other smoker's exhaust fumes as I walk down the street.. and yet I am a smoker. So what if smoking is banned in more and more places? Go where you can smoke.. the trip may help you cut down a little.. which is always a good thing.

When driving anywhere with my or anyone else's kids in the car I willdrive for two hours before stopping and having a smoko break outside the car.

It is My Bad Habit.. not anyone else's and so I am being responsible for it.

well OK then, have fun smoking and eating fast food then if it satisfies you in the now. But trust me when I say that you will suffer the consequences eventually, because I am one of the 'Boring' crowd, healthy and happy

I'm an ex-smoker, let me make that clear.
However now, I respect your right to smoke as long as you do it far enough away from me that I don't have to smell it or smell like it. In reference to the fart, you think it would be ok to sit right beside me and smoke a cig while I choke and have my clothes soiled by the poisonous smoke you are addicted to, yet you feel that I've done you some great disservice if I fart close enough that you chance to smell it.
Most cigarettes last an average of seven minutes. If I could emit a fart that would last for seven minutes I would be declared a god among teenage boys worldwide.
If you want to kill yourself slowly with tobacco smoke, I am totally cool with that.
I am not cool with you smoking around my kids, as they have asthma. You shouldn't even have to justify yourself on that point. Your little intimate encounter with the business end of that Newport could very well land my child in the emergency room, all because you had the nicotine monkey on your back & he was twisting your ear.
On a more personal note, cig smokers breath is rancid. Smokers clothes smell horrible. Their cars, their homes - it reeks. I've see what the tar does to the inside of computers - it clings...causing more & more dust to accumulate until it overheats. Which is good for business. Keep it up. Addictions are a sign of weakness. They are most definitely not a sign of strong willpower. I kicked my addictions long ago. All of them.
Here is a list, in case you feel I am biased.

Alcohol - kicked
Weed - kicked
Cigarettes - kicked
Meth - kicked

I'm running close to 8 years free from everything.

Right now, I'd like to say I'm sorry. Not for what I've said - but for the fact that you're so insulted over no one else wanting to suffer from your addiction that you had to make a rant about it. You smokers are one reason that it is so hard for any funding to come up for health care. You INTENTIONALLY poison yourselves, and CLOG the entire system with your smoking-related health problems. My feeling is, if you SMOKE, you should be denied health coverage for smoking-related issues.
Don't get me wrong, I support a smokers right to choose to smoke - it's YOUR life, throw it away if you want, I do not care not one single bit. Not even a little.
The only time I care is when the stench of it is being forced upon me and/or my family.

I ain't the smoke it's the cheap ass fire trap construction.

I bet you can smell other peoples' farts in some of these low rent apartments too.

Why not nix the smoking? Then they can smell and inhale the formaldehyde emanating from the particle board better.

You know what? You really do have a holier than thou attitude.

You say people choose to be addicts? While listing all the addictions you had? And now you bitch because you "have a family"?

Well, you chose to have kids and load landfills with diapers. Three more fingers pointing back at you. More pointing at you because YOU were an addict and likely endangered others.

You really do come off as a judgemental jerk. I do smoke cigs - but - I have NEVER been addicted nor rarely used anything else (such as alcohol). So - that makes me holier THAN THOU. And - I smoke outdoors only, away from others, and am only an occasional smoker.

You also failed to consider that alot of these lower income apartment complexes house single mothers who are likely stressed out and are themselves smokers. Or perhaps their boyfriends are, or their teen kids.

Before you blame others, Including Joe Random Smoker, stop and think about it for awhile.

I will bet that when you were an addict - you'd have wished people would've cut you a bit slack. And they likely didn't which just made you madder and more addicted. Am I right?

You sound like a "dry drunk" also. You really do.

What does a holier than thou attitude have to do with anything?

People don't choose to be addicts? I don't remember anyone holding me face down on the floor with their knee in my spine, twisting my arm up behind my back demanding that I begin smoking cigarettes. The only factor that I can remember in any of my addictions was my own series of poor choices and lack of self control.
In case I wasn't as clear as what your mental faculties would demand, let me remind you that the point of my post was that nonsmokers have just as much of a right to breathe tobacco-free air as you do to pollute the air, and that smoking in public places causes us to suffer because of YOUR addictions.

"Well, you chose to have kids and load landfills with diapers. Three more fingers pointing back at you. "
I take this to mean that you haven't polluted the gene pool of humanity yet. Nice. Thumbs up. That addition of the first-grade playground argument regarding the pointing fingers was a really nice touch.

"More pointing at you because YOU were an addict and likely endangered others."
Exactly. When I didn't take other people into consideration, and served my own selfish interests, I made poor choices. My addictions endangered the health of others, as well as my own. I see absolutely no shame in the recognition of this, since it was in the past and I have mended my ways.

"You really do come off as a judgemental jerk. I do smoke cigs - but - I have NEVER been addicted nor rarely used anything else (such as alcohol). So - that makes me holier THAN THOU. And - I smoke outdoors only, away from others, and am only an occasional smoker."

I honestly don't care if you smoke at all. Why should I care? I merely pointed out the fact that tobacco addiction is a problem (aside from others) that I had the strength to overcome. I also think that the tone of your retaliation is more of a justification to yourself to bolster the addiction that you claim you don't have.

*You also failed to consider that alot of these lower income apartment complexes house single mothers who are likely stressed out and are themselves smokers. Or perhaps their boyfriends are, or their teen kids.*

I would be greatly more stressed out than usual if I knew that the only source of relief came to me at six dollars a pack, stunk up my house, my clothes, my breath, and endangered the life of not only myself but all of those around me. If you can get your crayons out, and one of the lined sheets of paper - do some math and see just how much money a pack of day for a year comes out to.

*Before you blame others, Including Joe Random Smoker, stop and think about it for awhile.*

Stop and think about what? That other peoples addictions are harmful to my health? To my family's health? I'll not apologize for being proactive when it comes to their well being. If what I said doesn't apply to you, it doesn't apply. Get over it and quit whining.

*I will bet that when you were an addict - you'd have wished people would've cut you a bit slack. And they likely didn't which just made you madder and more addicted. Am I right?*

Actually I DID wish they would STFU and leave me alone. My family pretty much did. There was one friend of mine that absolutely wouldn't. She is the one that I owe my success to. She wouldn't sit idly by while I slowly killed myself. People who do nothing while watching you poison yourself....are they really doing you any favors?
The more I pushed against her - the more she pushed back. SHE is the one who did me the biggest favor.

*You sound like a "dry drunk" also. You really do. *

I sound like a person defending his right to breathe air free from the smoke of the things that you like to suck on.
