Guess what not everyone on ATS has the same views as the rest of you sheep (because that is what you have become) so don’t start getting all high and mighty with me because I am against guns. Guns are primarily designed to kill, killing is evil hence guns are evil as are the people who use them to kill. Now you all going to tell me about how its self defence, no guns no need for self defence and I hardly think that the guys shooting up school fall back on the self defence argument for a plea of innocence.

OK so you don't like guns. Fine. But what are you going to do when it is TPTB come and drag you out of your home? Force you into whatever situation they wish you to be in - what then? Pray that you'll come out of it alive?
You speak of guns like they are the evil but it is intent that is evil Kevin and a person shooting up a school knows they are not defending themselves. They actually do studies (here govt & here social ) on people such as men that shoot school students (one recent story here ) and the like, so sweeping generalizations are not truths either. So if you are saying that we all should stop defending ourselves and be like you who feels you have the moral high ground, I'll say I'll stand in line right behind you and wait until they zap you in the forehead with their cattle prodders. I'll be firing before you hit the ground because in my Bible, it says "God helps those that help themselves!"

I think you have a good point. I haven't been around 500 years to know how it was back then, but I've been here more than 60. To be honest I can't tell if its any worse now or not. The issues are just different. Back then we worried about the Russians, now its the multi-national corporations screwing up the planet and enslaving workers to satisfy their greed, and our governments helping them do it.

Somehow I don't see the end coming, just more of stuff needing fixing like its always been. Perhaps there is a greater need now than ever for the little guys to work together since we can't even expect our government to be on our side anymore, if they ever were.

Kudos! I haven't been here as long as you, Wayno, but I do know this - the technology for mass murder has improved dramatically. That alone makes me wonder about our government's intent. That and this scary notion that the government was ever on anyone's side but its own to begin with. I'd rather air on the side of caution at all times than run out of toilet paper - my own saying. LOL

Yes all AK variants and other assault rifles are legal and are common place almost every gun is legal in the US. The only restrictions are on full autos, grenade launchers, silencers, a shotgun with a barrell length less then 18 inches or a rifle with a barrell length of less than 16 inches. You can over ride these restrictions if you register and pay for the proper licensing for these weapons. Oh I forgot to add black powder cannons arent even considered a weapon

So what’s to stop a bunch of guys ganging to gather and storming the Whitehouse?

I mean its sounds to me like if you wanted to you could probably find a few hundred well armed people who all want to bring down the administration so safe guards are in place or do you just wait until they show up at the front door and hope that the Secret Service had their porridge that morning.

First of all, that would be suicide. You dont think they have snipers (among other things) monitoring the property at all times? You're just being silly now.

I often get into heated debates with people from the UK when it comes to guns. I agree with you, maybe the world would be a better place if we didnt have high tech weaponry, but the world would still be full of bad people. Before guns it was swords, bow and arrows etc... You dont think a well placed shot from a crossbow is equal to a rifle? No matter what weapons are being used, there will always be people out there who have the intent of preying on the innocent. When you have a home and a family to protect, it helps you sleep better at night knowing you can at least make a stand...

People who reside in areas where guns are restricted seem to forget that they're only illegal to law abiding citizens. Criminals will own guns regardless, so what are you going to do when two big men are in your house, intent on raping and murdering your wife and daughter? Politely ask them to leave? Take a baseball bat to them?

Some people will remain naive until something awful happens, then they'll understand

Exactly I keep atleast 2 guns loaded at all times one on my side of the bed and one on her side of the bed.

Most people don't hate the government or want it to fall the american government is the best there is in the world needs improving but it's the best.... As long as they keep away from us we keep away from them..

The real threat are morons starting urban combat, and homeland bombings, we will have an answer for people that want to destroy america...

Prepping has been gaining popularity in the past few years,ive been thinking about doing it myself because its better to be prepared than dead regardless of the cost.

If some kind of event were to happen a good chunk of the population would die within the first few weeks because we depend so much on the system which is very fragile,theirs quite a list of things that could happen.

I think one of the worst possible things would be an emp attack which would destroy all electrical equipment,in the video his car would be useless but i believe their are engines with are emp proof maybe a hummer one im not sure.

I think prepping is smart.

I have a carburated truck so I'm good, But If you keep a spare pcm(the car computer) and any other important electronic components in a faraday cage it will survive.

Awesome - I have all of that! I was a little tripped out he didn't show his Berkey water filter and a year supply of filtration cartridges. Also I would like to know what kind of MRE's he has besides the aspect of counting on hunting. From the video he lives back east - in Arizona the hunting will be in the high country (Deer, Elk, Javelina, Squirrel, and whatever can be found). I have 3 of those solar panels (Arizona Sun) for everything from refrigeration to charging items.

I have the same AK74 fold out and it came with camo stock, Atchisson assault shotgun, Colt Argentino 45, Raven 25, Standard 22 X 2 - kids, and all the ammo I could need (thanks friends). I am working on getting a couple others - SKS and a Desert Eagle (we will not even talk about the ammo for that one). That isn't even including my Grandfathers WWII fully functional Japanese Arisaka 99 rifle with Emperor chrysanthemum still intact (ammo hard to find) and endless knives, military issued machete's and other items. Not bragging, but I like my chances. Family shoots well!

I like this guys approach. What is he doing about fuel - containers and such. I would like to have seen that as well. Diesel would be the way to go on like my Dodge Ram 4x4 Diesel Truck, there are always fuel options there.

I just pray I don't have to use my Potassium Iodate tablets, that will be a bad day for everyone! But I have more than enough for my family.

Why anyone would attack this guy for being prepared to protect his most important asset (family) is beyond me. He is doing the right thing - and he is not alone!
