While the wikileaks cable is likely to be a hoax, there is plenty of other information on this anomaly available publicly on the internet - both in wikipedia and from a few creditable international news sources.

There's a few possible explanations for this magnetic vortex, most likely associated with instability in the Earth's core leading up to a magnetic pole reversal. However, one alarming concern would be that it is the signature of a black hole growing inside the Earth. The anomaly was first discovered in late 2000 soon after heavy ion collisions experiments started with the RHIC at BNL earlier that year, and started to expand when CERN's LHC started up in late 2008. It doesn't make sense that these experiments are let continue while there are still questionmarks about the cause of this anomaly. A few nobel prizes can surely wait if the environment & planetary stability is at risk...

Why do you even bother searching for the cable?

Any cable that is marked 'Top Secret' is a fake. The highest levels of classification used in diplomatic cables are 'Secret' and 'Secret/NOFORN' (NOFORN means 'No Foreign Dissemination').

There is simply no such thing as a 'Top Secret' cable. It is already widely known that there are no references to UFOs in the 251,000 diplomatic cables currently in the possession of Wikileaks. The Norwegian newspaper 'Aftenpost' already proved this by offering a public search service to search all unreleased cables for specific items and keywords. No information in reference to UFOs or Aliens or anything of the sort is even mentioned. That kind of information just isn't shared on a diplomatic level, if at all.

So in future... remember that any cable labeled 'Top Secret' or higher is a certified fake. Anything else is easily cross-checkable on the Wikileaks and Guardian websites. Oh, and apologies for all those who were hoping for some magical revelation on the existence of extraterrestrial life in those remaining cables.

It just isn't going to happen.

And the earthquakes? 40-60 in 1 month! Sure goes well with the conflicts over there too. NO MAINSTREAM media coverage of this whatsoever yet the list of navies is extraordinary.

Hay guys, anyone have any news on the Gulf of Aden? Last I heard it was the largest naval assembly in the history of the world and now nothing?

Did the aliens simply leave? Did we shut off the stargate or what?
