do you feel as if my input in the thread has been pointless? you realize there were riots in LA because of rodney king? and you think your idea won't completely destabilize the country and result in stuff like this (on steroids)

idealism is a good thing but it needs to be tempered with reality.

Drop race as the issue, and reclassify it to the wealthy and the poor, with barely any inbetween. The term redistribution of wealth throughout history has occured, and usually ended with heads on pikes to serve as a warning to others.

One of the greatest redistributions of wealth in this country is Social Security. In theory is sound and practical and makes sense, but in reality, its a complete failure. The people who work pay into a system to support those who have retired, or do not work for whatever reason. Without any type of checks and balance in that system it has been abused, by all people.

Our Government has taken on this approach for many many years now, and it has only increased the problem.

Entitlements = out of control = reclassification of people to a suspect class = unsustainable in current form.

Sometimes its almost as if our freedoms and rights intefere with whats needed. Take voting for example. A right every citizen should have (and imo convicted people as well). We take note there are flaws in the system, and look for ways to address those flaws in order to make the process accurate and fair. Most notably is fraud, identity theft, multiple voting by one person in 2 or 3 districts due to part time residencey status.

The solution? Some type of ID card to confirm identity and elidgability to vote.

Result - Court rulings saying its an undue burden and unconstitutional, although I fail to see how. A completely opposite effect when compared to say classified information.

One ruling to prevent people from being required to prove identity and validity to vote, while another hides information from the Government and its citizens.

revesed priorities? Good intentions gone awry?

A patchwork of 50 individual nations and one district woven together into one nation. We need to fix the mess, starting at the top, and working down, which means no more apathy and increased participation in the system. Many states have recall procedures in place, in addition to laws that can be used on politicians for criminal behavior.

What irks me most recently is Wesley Snipes being sentenced to 3 years in prison for tax evasion, while Rangell gets "censured" on the house floor, and thats it. If the people of New York re-elect that guy, then we are begging our elected officals to continue to abuse the people for their own gain.

Are you enjoying your stars?

You're efforts to keep comparing a government protest to a race riot are ridiculous.

Once again you're proving you have no idea what your talking about. ITS ABOUT FREEDOM FROM OPPRESSION. ITS NOT ABOUT RACE.

Theres no way that i can drive this point home enough. But since you refuse to see the difference between the two, my time will be better spent doing something constructive, instead of talking to a brick wall.

I feel sorry that race is such an issue for you. Freedom is the right of every human on earth. Luckily for us the founders of America gave us a constitution to stand on, as Law.

Good luck in your ventures, whatever they may be.

You should direct that at undo. She brought up race as the issue.

Do you people not know how to read, or do your eyes just skip the important parts?

it hasn't been abused by all people. i've been handicapped for years and can't get any kind of help from the gov. even though i'm female, i'm also white and hubby makes just enough money to put us out of the welfare bracket. i also couldn't work because i spent so much time sick, and as a result, didn't pay into social security enough to qualify for any help from it. gotta work to pay social security taxes. one of the reasons i didn't work is because i caught gulf war syndrome from hubby, which put me in a coma i wasn't supposed to awake from. but here i am, nonetheless. still kickin' it, asking questions and requesting that you not pull the misery of other countries that have gone this route, down on my head.

you haven't answered my question does your view of what needs to be changed, include cutting off government retirement checks, social security retirements, and welfare?

To those that think we the west, the US, Canada, Britain...are just in a slump, everything is fine...
what we are doing to children, to the general population and and foreigners in airports
not the soviets, the nasis, nor the chicoms, not the muslims have stooped to
thats just for starters

If the gov can create a terror event, like the underwear bomber and admit to it,
to justify grope searching, and pornoscan searching children and others
(It's just a game kiddies...heh heh...)
guess where this road goes

ps
groping and porno scanning children is agressive action against the peeps.

you realize how many people have government retirements, who would lose their only source of income? like vets, for example? can you imagine have a nation full of angry vets and disabled vets? who worked the better part of their healthy lives, getting shot at, inoculated with who the hell knows what, treated like they had no rights, were told what to eat, how to dress, how to act, how high to jump, how low to crawl, and put up with all of that so they collect a retirement! you take their money, you have your work cut out for ya.

I haven't any more points to argue with you about (except the VA) because I agree with what you are saying.

There are countless numbers of veterans who are homeless for various reasons. The biggest one is IMO the fact that after one is nolonger of any "use" they get discarded no matter the service they provided.

I'm not trying to "Revere" us back to our founding wars, or advocate any kind of anarchy or riots or bring about the SHTF.

I'm hoping that while G-men grace these pages, they'll ponder ways to keep order without breaching the peace. I hope to achieve watching sh_t roll uphill for once, where it originates.

Oops!

Forgive me while I was away having chow...

The L.A. riots was not exclusively devoted to the race card.

Several individuals (police officers) beat and battered a single individual. Police brutality in short. By throwing race into the fold only exposed more corruption within the department.

That was a ploy to blame the transgression back onto the community they swore to serve and protect. Fail.

How did a thread about the Espionage Act get derailed into a debate about race wars???

You know why race riots happen? Because of racist people and the unjust laws they support and protect for their own benefit (aka personal comfort)!!! If your perception of Black and Brown people come from Fox 'News' and Rap Videos your so delusional it is sad! Go make some new friends and maybe you will see 'they' are just the same as you, maybe you will see 'they' are on your side as long as you are on 'their' side! Join hands or prepare to be in disagreement... Simple...

As far as this Act goes... It truly is a sign of the times. A time to stand up. A time for REAL change amongst our society.

the poignant part is, they were dragging innocent people, because they were white, out of their cars, robbing stores (of their own neighbors), doing massive property damage, because they were mad. this is what happens when poor people get mad. how do you make a person poor? you take all their jobs and ship them overseas, then take away their government support. and if you take their retirements, the social security checks from their grandparents, and welfare from their moms, you think they'll just smile about it? you think they won't grab the first white person they see and take it out on them?

"this is what happens when poor people get mad"

No, this happens when racist people beat up, kill, imprison, disenfranchise and pray on a group of people for no other reason than for their own desire thirsty, greedy, materialistic, personal comfort!

This is what happens when people stand by watching and allowing this to happen while benefiting off of it, this is what happens when you don't stand up for people no matter the skin color or ethnic background!

(people witness by this guy's response above, just exactly what i'm talking about. it's any white person's fault, anywhere. period. even if they had nothing to do with it, in the first place, even if they paid into the system that fed and clothed people in question, so when the jobs and the money goes, who's gonna get blamed? you, if you're white, your grandchildren, your children, your wives, as is evidenced by his response. he just proved my point.)

what happens when you take jobs and ship them overseas, then cut off their government support as well?
witness mr. lifeisenergy's response, for the answer.

I'll answer it.

No, and what will fund those programs will be the House/Senate cede their infinite benefits to the "rightful" programs, beginning with the VA. Eliminating the House and Senate will generate more funds than I care to sum-up at this juncture. People can vote for their Mayors/Governors/Sheriffs/judges via the internet.

Anyone incapable of governing ones self deserves this Federal Government. It just so happens that that is a minute minority.

If the topic of discussion is a government engaging in serious aggression against the American people, I'm afraid that some "government" types are going to be rather surprised.

That aggression crap cuts both ways.

Now that idea of a government aggressing their citizens may work in Europe and Asia, and Australia even. But that's only because all those folks are unarmed.

It's amazing what a handful who are well armed can do against many who are not armed.

I've seen anarchy first hand, I've seen an oppressive unpopular government first hand, I've fought in nations with civil wars, and I can tell you the entire process is rather messy.

The assets for example the US Government is likely relying on - can't be relied on. You see, they are the American people too, and aside from a tiny, tiny percentage, the bulk will be recalling their own families and the need to protect THEM.

Now it's true that in the event of sudden anarchy, a number of folks who are on the ends of a typical Bell Curve are going to be taking advantage.

Some who feel entitled, will be looking to take from others, using guile, force, or the threat of force.

Others who are actually empowered, will blow their heads off when they try.

And yes, a lot of old scores are going to be settled.

That too, cuts both ways, but those who are doers and not recipients will prevail. Those who have become accustomed to their "entitlements" for obvious reasons, will fall faster than bird dookey in a downdraft.

SImply because they are unaccustomed to "doing." Thinking. Performing. Overcoming. Dealing with pressure. And outfitted through various degrees of preparation.

Once things get sideways, regardless of what started it, the process won't stop until folks get tired of killing, or tired of dying.

And believe it or not, it takes forever for that to happen.

Good thing is, the politicians, politik, planners and government leaders? Some of the first to be eliminated, and also happen to be those most ruthlessly hunted down.

LOL! Wow you sound so fearful and ignorant. Do you not understand history? Did you miss that part of education? Or were you only taught White History? I'm betting on the last one...

I am honest about the REALITY of our history in this country, and I accept the fact that people with my complexion once tortured, enslaved, systematically breed for genetics, indoctrinated, raped and caged Black people. I am honest with myself that the fact of the matter is people of my complexion once (not too long ago I might add) dressed up in white sheets and hung Black people, passed laws that effectively catagorized them as less than human, and restricted them to standards of living unimaginable to average privalaged White person.

And being that I accept this as a REALITY and conduct myself in a manner that is understanding of this REALITY, my dozens of Black and Brown friends never once mention any White hatred to me. In fact, I believe I give them hope and help them understand that not every White person thinks like YOU do! I believe people like me are doing more to protect people like you than people like you are doing for themselves!

So say thank you to me not "hey look at this guy! he is going to get us killed!"... Save that wolf cry for your sick imagination... I might just save your life or your child's life one day.

and witness fararcher's response to see how some people can look at the thing anti-septically ,while the rest of us are struggling and dying from totally preventable deaths and preventable job losses, and even more applicably, preventable loss of promised job benefits, such as retirements. there's no comfort in knowing that people will either sink or swim. who the hell let loose the flood in the first place? and why didn't they supply an ark, eh?

i'm just pointing to the big elephant in the room. you may have friends that will not begrudge you your skin color, but in race wars and riots, your skin color changes everything. do you think if you had driven into LA during the riots that they would care that you had black or brown friends? i'm not talking about people you get along with and who treat you and you treat them, amicably, i'm talking about what happens when people get desperate. comprende' amigo?

You're struggling as are we; do you not realize you are arguing against people who will most likely have your back, because you are lumped-in with us? Playing a race card is as irrelevant as remarking against a Zionist, and being labeled anti-Semitic.

Those white people were in locations where blacks were lumped together; wrong place, right time.
