True Patriots Are Christians

Does it really take 13 pages of speculation to determine that this is false?

I am an atheist.

I served in the USAF and I am a patriot of the United States of America.

Done. What other proof is necessary?

LOL! I didnt even make the connection! I have a funny feeling that many of us here can really geniunely like a person without agreeing with them 100% on everything

Personally.. I dont think that is a prerequisite to be a patriot that you must be a Christian. If a Christian wishes to use that as a factor for their patriotism, I have no problem with it. In my mind its a separate thing.. religion versus patriotism... but its all in how we individually interpret it. If someone claims another isnt a patriot because they arent a Christian.. Id have a problem with that .. one that involved me getting my panties in a wad.

Yeah, but we discussed a lot of other neat OT things.. I had been avoiding this thread.. and then I clicked on it and saw BlackFOOT.. couldnt resist. Glad I did though.

No it isnt. Bush turned patriotism into a dirty label. I say its high time we showed the world what real patriots are. Christians or not.

I believe this quote sums up this thread.

I'm a devout Catholic and I feel that to be a true patriot and Earth citizen in general, everyone should be allowed to practice what they feel in their hearts to be right. I may not agree with it 100% but that's your God given right to be an atheist or a Muslim or Jewish or whatever you choose. I think the people who are not patriots are those who are afraid to practice what they feel is right and stand up for what they believe in.

Let me summarize some of the worst parts of Christianity:

1) It's OK to sell and abuse your children.

2) If your wife cheats on you, she should be stoned to death.

3) The world is only a few thousand years old.

4) Despite only one book naming his existence, somehow Jesus is this messiah who walked on water and turned water into wine.

I don't care if you learned some good things in Bible school. It's irrelevant. The Bible is irrelevant. Move on. There is a universe out there.
