Who knows? Could be a reality movie. Could be a security camera. Could be you are being filmed yourself at this very moment and you don't realize it. Lots of camera lenses out their in the world. Everywhere. Everywhere.

This is from a movie, but sort of shows the point of the OP.

Depends on what you call showing off.

Turning up in a mechwarrior is showing off, but you'd probably win. So it's all cool to show off in that situation.
