The only way to answer that is with another question... What exactly is it that you don't get? Anyone on here could at any moment take responsibility for any cyber attack. It would not make a damned bit of difference. Why? If you're good at it, there's no evidence.

A good portion of people on here could think of at least a dozen ways in which they could avoid being caught off the top of their heads, and most if not all of them could not be considered "hackers". Also, there are so many script kiddies doing this, it would be a waste of resources to go after all but the most prolific and least able to cover their tracks. Maybe organizers.

The thing of it is, even if they had all the resources and time in the world to track down each and every one, they would not bother. The media is grabbing this up and making it seem 1000x worse than it is. It's script kiddies that stayed home from school so they could tell their friends they were "hacking" for Wikileaks. Nothing more, really.

Unless you want to consider the ramifications that can be speculated on... Most of which have to do with the huge response to what in reality should be a small, time-filler of a story being made into something that could potentially be used in turn to restrict internet for everyone.

As a side note, I'm going to get that Rosetta Stone language software and pick up some Chinese. Could be helpful in the relatively near future

It really was pretty obvious. Unfortunately, what you didn't seem to grasp is as many have said, it is not a secret group that meets in dark allies, or joins together once a month to plot a grand overthrow. Most people, of course only as I understand it (as I am not a member) don't even now each other.

Why doe`s everyone think anon is bad... first of all mIRC ( www.mirc.com... ) is not bad. 2nd.... there is a lot of people that use it . 3rd... AnonOps.net is good for the economy. (yaha) point is Anonymous is a group ( and that is there name) of freedom fighters. what they do dosen`t hurt anyone except the prides of all those they disrupt.What harm is it when they flood a website with 4000 pc`s trying to log in...nothing! the site is full and dosen`t load...no one got into the site and stole anything..nata. unlike the goverment who dosen`t care who they disrupt or steal from. next month the internet will be blocked and you wont be able to log on to ats if the goverment had its say..we want the goverment to leave us the hell alone. they wont so we will hit them right back. wiki leaks is our friend. they have the truth the goverment don`t want us to know. thats why Anonymous is trying to help. Anon is not a terrorist group. Yes Anon is on ATS they could even be on your friends list. There is no structure if you watch the IRC Chat and a good idea pops up then you have a choice to do it. I would say 80% just donate there computer to help out. But the other 20% could do major damage if they wanted to. It is not that hard especially if you work in or understand basic network structure. All they did was block the entrance to a place of business.

On a side note I personal and not happy that Visa and MasterCard have a right to tell me where and when I can spend my money. What is next oh you cannot use your card to go to the liquor store. All it was, was a protest online instead of on the door steps.
