An official who was briefed on the arrest told AP on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release the information that the person was given a phony bomb and was arrested after trying to detonate it. The official says the suspect's goal was to blow up a military recruitment center. The official says the individual is a United States citizen and that the plot was carried out in Baltimore County.

Interesting to see where this goes.
The person was given a phony bomb and arrested after trying to detonate it??
Sounds kinda like that one in Oregon another FBI setup?
Is this to become the norm now? The FBI goes around giving fake bombs to people who may be looking to do something then arrest them. I don't know where to draw the line here. Thoughts?

The people they are doing this to think that these are real bombs, they think they are really going to kill people. It's kinda like the to catch a predator. The FBI are acting like Chris Hansen here.

You might be able to argue entrapment, but now everyone knows that given the chance you would have blown up a building and killed people inside. So even if you win, you still loose.

Are they completely losing it or do they know that nothing will happen so they do and say whatever they like?

This only has to do with instilling fear in America by American domestic terrorists.
They can now say, its not only coming from over seas anymore'.
An airport or airplane will be the next set-up.
Keep all of us in fear to continue restricting us, taking away our rights and 'protecting' us.
Its all part of the agenda.

I think your right, this is getting crazier by the day. I wonder what the deadline is for removing all of our freedoms? It seems to be stepped up lately.

Interesting how these things didn't start happening until after the wikileaks and TSA fiascos. Wonder why it took "da turrorists" nine years to get mobilized and have their plans coincide right when the US Government needed some positive stories during their continued surpression of our rights.

INteresting! Two publicly revealed "sting" busts in as many weeks. Personally, I would think that they would want to keep things quiet if in fact these busts were authentic. Nothing like bragging about a thwarted bomb attack during the Christmas Season. See, they are doing their jobs folks.

I get the usual feeling that another message is being sent by our govt. Terrorists, beware... America, we are keeping you safe...

the story has been updated:

Like the Baltimore County case, it turned out to be a dummy bomb plot put together by FBI agents. Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, was arrested after authorities said he planned the details of the plot, including where to park the van filled with explosives to hurt the most people. Mohamud allegedly believed he was receiving help from a larger ring of jihadists as he communicated with undercover agents. Read more: www.foxnews.com...

Didn't this used to be called "entrapment?"

its all gov bs.
they're just stirring the pot to see who plays into it.

a military recruitment center attack isn't going to help terrorists or patriots alike.

now if the headlines were to read, all the cabinets of the joint chiefs were taken out, that might be a different story.

Wait til one bomber slips thru the cracks and sets off an actual device...
Then everyone will cry not enough was done to prevent the attacks

You can't make these people happy, no matter what the government does or does not do, this group will whine and cry about it.

The people that they bust with these stings are people that would blow people up, they would KILL AMERICANS. But no, this group here wants to whine and cry about it cause "Da gubermint did something!"

I think people need to grow up sometimes, realize that yes there are people out there that do want to hurt Americans, and if the government can catch them before hand, that's a good thing.

But not this group, they want Americans to die, so that they can complain that the government didn't do enough to stop it.
