I know that this isn't recent news, but I'm absolutely disgusted by the fact that Polanski can escape justice, but even more disgusted by the fact that many Hollyweird 'stars' came out in support of him.

It makes my blood boil that someone who anally rapes a 13-year-old girl can escape justice, because of his connections.

It makes me even more angry that people who should know better, defend this pervert.

Is the defence of this creep by some of of Hollyweird's glittering 'stars' proof - as if proof were needed - that the whole industry is corrupt, immoral, and devoid of any semblance of human decency and integrity ?

Now why would Hollyweird 'stars' support this creepy pervert ?

Exactly.
Why would so many support a man who committed such a despicable crime?

There is one blatently obvious reason!

There is an old thread on ATS about this man and his crime, I remember it became very heated. For all of the arguments put forth both pro and con, My opinion has not changed and will not change. The man should rot... However, money and influence speak loudly and he has both.

I think you havent a clue as to what polenski been accused of? The so called victim didnt even report the so called rape because she wasnt raped and said so herself. It is true she was 15 at the time but Polanski assumed she was at least 18 and didnt even know she was only 15.

Because suck ups abound in that industry. They think that they are normal, and everyone is just like them....amoral suck ups who'd stab their own mother in the back for some attention.

Which totally explains the Playboy interview where he talked about how you wish you were him, and every guy wants to screw preteens, and that he'd done it lots.

Mainstream media blatantly supports softcore child pornography in everything they produce. From MSN to Hollywood to Disney...its littered with promiscuous under aged girls and boobless/anorexic models who appear to be children, and all are sold to the public as sex symbols and masturbation material for sick men.

How are you shocked that the world's largest promoter of "child porn" is filled with people protecting and supporting a child molester?

I like some of your other posts, loner007, but, with respect, you haven't got a clue what you're talking about here.

Polanski pleaded guilty to sexual abuse charges, and then jumped bail and fled to Switzerland, when he was pending sentencing in the USA for his crimes.

The guy is a pervert, and he should be made to pay for his crimes.

I didn't mean to tread over old ground, and I hope that this thread doesn't get too heated.

I only started this thread because I saw something the other day about this pervert, and how he's still living the high life, with the blessing of all relevant authorities and Hollyweird actors.

Aargh ! You have no idea how much my blood boils at this pervert's freedom !

I won't rush to judgment about the charges against Polanski as I feel that is the dominion of a well informed jury. But I will say that his avoidance of these charges speaks volumes!

If I found myself accused of wrongdoing, especially of this type. it would be my life mission to clear my name. Running is most often the act of the guilty.

There is another one where he is doing a TV interview where he is discussing the interview in Playboy, and saying exactly what I typed.

I don't need to put words in his mouth - he's a jackass who drugged a girl who was brought to him by her mother so he could have sex with her. No matter how you doll that up, its rape. Her mother should have been charged too.

No, hey, I wasn't implying it was "old ground" it just sparked a memory from a thread in the past. The take away is that there are those on both sides and in the middle and Polanski and "crew" worked them to his advantage... again, my opinion.

Why are people still talking about this 20+ years later?

The victim has even stated she wants no litigation, no nothing, just to have the past be the past.

And whether or not this was "rape" is up for debate. No report filed, no official statements no anything.

Because, crimes against children cannot be BOUGHT OFF WITH BLOOD MONEY because you and her mother think that's peachy.

Nail on the head, Aeons.

And the likes of Whoopi Goldberg and Woody Allen should be ashamed of themselves.

It wasn't ''rape-rape''.

He supplied a 13year old girl with champagne and Quaalude.
He then had oral, full and anal sex with her despite her requests to go home.
He admitted all charges then plea bargained the charge down to unlawful sex with a minor then fled the US rather than face the possibility of jail.

Now I'm no moral evangellist by any stretch of the imagination but that's pretty reprehensible in my book and if allowed to get away with it shows a total contempt for his victim and the US judicial system and sends a message that, shock - horror, US justice can be bought.

If he was a normal, everyday Joe he would have gone to jail, his celebrity and wealth should not afford him preferential treatment.

Cracking post, mate.

I think a lot of people are forgetting that he did actually plead guilty to sexual assault charges, and then Polanski jumped bail and escaped from the US justice system.

The fact that he's apparently immune from prosecution for his crimes, is bad enough.

The fact that some of Hollyweird's 'finest' came out in support of him is just too much to accept, and is what prompted me to make this thread.

Nice one.

I can't see how there's any ''in between'' in this issue, as I consider it a clear-cut case that Polanski is a pervert, and should be made to pay for his crime by serving a long sentence in prison.

That's not the only reason.

But this abomination to the human race should be destroyed. That's my hatred coming out for pedophile rapists, so excuse me.
