I see, and you speak from your experience as a secret service agent.....

anyway...was the life of the president at risk? perhaps they should have hid him when the south Florida kid crashed his plane against a building down here too......or everytime there is some sort of plane crash, car crash, bike....my gosh.....they must be going after the president in every terrorist attack or accidents.....

I don't know why I even bother when the conversation degrades to such a point, but I will once again if only to save this thread some credibility.

Was the presidents life at risk? Well, that is the question isn't it?

By the time the second plane hit, it was already known to the FAA and NORAD that it was in fact a Hijacking that was the cause and it was an attack on the Homeland. Now, since the official story was that 'they had no idea what was happening' or the extent of the attack, that would also mean that the Secret Service couldn't have known what all the potential Dangers to the President were. They didn't know that besides the planes hitting the WTC that there wasn't other attacks planned or the method that they might use. Why? Because their Story that they are sticking to is that they didn't know such an attack was going to take place or where or when or how. So, if that is so, why did they assume that it was safe there in the classroom?

It is their job, the SS, to remove the Pres. to a secure location until at least they figure out what is happening and also so the Pres. can make important decisions such as whether or not to issue the command to shoot down any more passenger flights and things like that.

Air Force One is supposed to have air support at all times, even though there is none to speak of that day, for some reason. But, usually it would be there and could be there on short notice so removal of the Pres. would have been no problem. Even in his armored limo would be safer than an open classroom full of kids. Which by the way was publicly known as his location for all to know.

So perhaps the reason nothing was done, was because they Did Know what was going to happen that day after all. Knowing full well, that their location was not a target and therefor did not need to worry. However, that goes totally against their own story.

Once again....how do you know the procedures of the secret service?....and why would it be called secret service if you knew their procedures and they were public? We can know a few things about the Secret Service, but their procedures on keeping the president safe?.....If these procedures were public....don't you think terrorists could take advantage that these procedures are public and use them?......that first...

Second...... if they knew, after the second plane hit the tower, that there were planes used against several targets in terrorist attacks, couldn't it be safe to say that if they took the president to Airfoce One that it could also become a target? or that the terrorists could have it in its sights? How do you know what was in the minds of the Secret Service or how they decided to react, if they found out it was a terrorist attack?............

You are trying to discern as to what they did and why with no facts, or experience, to base your speculation on.

Here is what we know on what the Secret Service does to keep the president safe...and i do hope they never post any more detailed information for the sake of our president or any future presidents.

" How does the Secret Service "protect" the President?

The Secret Service strives to maintain a safe environment for the President and other protectees. To accomplish this task, the Secret Service calls upon other federal, state and local agencies to assist on a daily basis. For example, when the President is at the White House, the Secret Service Uniformed Division, the Metropolitan Police Department, and the U.S. Park Police patrol the streets and parks nearby. The Secret Service Technical Security Division regularly consults with experts from other agencies. The military supports the Secret Service through the use of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and communications resources. When the President travels, an advance team of Secret Service agents works with the host city and state law enforcement and public safety officials to jointly establish the security measures needed to protect him. Have you thought that perhaps when they found out, after the second plane hit, that there could be other planes and they could target airforce 1? or that there was a possibility of other terrorists, if they knew by then it was a terrorist act, that could be watching the president and ready to do something? Did that cross your minds?....

I don't think you are helping your case. That's why it is strange the Secret Service didn't react, nor the President in leaving an UNSECURED LOCATION. Bush made it public he would be at the school, so why be somewhere when terrorists know where you are at. Plus, Air Force 1 is supposed to have escorts...Cmon you can do better, all those questions have already been answered, try reading the thread again.

We are talking about 9/11 if you havent noticed. You remember, the day that thousands of people were killed in the World Trade Center. That doesn't happen every day you know. If it did, this country wouldn't be very safe nor the President. But the fact is, nothing like this has happened since Pearl Harbor as Bush put it.

Oddly enough, the PNAC document on defense written in 2000 said that the only way to transform our military for the next century in a rapid fashion would be to "have another Pearl Harbor."

Source www.newamericancentury.org... written in 2000:

p.51 in document, p.63 in pdf format

Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor.

Source Washington Post:

Pg.2

Like his father, Bush tries to keep a daily diary of his thoughts and observations. That night, he dictated:
"The Pearl Harbor of the 21st century took place today."

"We cannot allow a terrorist thug to hold us hostage. My hope is that this will provide an opportunity for us to rally the world against terrorism.

Oddly enough, the movie Pearl Harbor came in the Summer of 2001.

You forgot that they made where the president was visiting publicly known.

Air Force One has an escort by fighter jets. THey are using airliners, don't think its a fair fight. The location of Pres Bush was made public. The airliners wouldn't know where he was if he was in the air anyway. Are you trying to say that the Secret Service doesn't want to protect the President? That is one of the knowns about them, protecting the President at any cost.

They are using planes that could simply have to drop from the sky. They weren't using cars or such, and even if they were why wouldn't they be alarmed enough to remove the Pres. I don't understand how this helps your case. Its just common sense, the safest place is the sky, or at least an UNKNOWN location. He was at a public place where everyone knew.

Show me the protection of the air. And better yet, show me why fighter jets didn't take out the other planes. You don't even know where you are coming from. You're just too blind to see the anomolies that exist.

Read over mojom's original post again and listen to the analogy and listen to the ideas.

I saw this post and couldn't help but stop in and read it. I'm totally at aww by the name callin for one.
Second this has not been a debate at all this has gone into a "kiddieland" back and forth (give me my candy) conversation. For we need not argue bot the policy of the SS. They dont have that name because there procedure is secret and its a great unknown.
They are well known just as the police are "Protect&Serve" i believe thats there slogan. I would assume that would be the same--> at all cost for the SS seeing that they are sworn to secrecy upon acceptance. They are not just there for show and to drive him around. Those agents are there 24 hours=a day! They dont just follow him they lead him to each destination. Thats one reason he has two armored vehicles as a standard. Every time he makes an apperance like the one to the school, his agents travel there in a timely manor before hes even in the car to investigate the premesis. So dont go talking about procedure thats a everyday thing for him (even at mcdonald's).
Now I'm getting off subject if we want to go deeper into it again im repeating wut has already been posted, he knew minutes before he arrived to the school of the first plane hitting. If the WTC had been attacked which was clearly apparant then the first step was get him to safety. Dont go being sarcastic neither talking about the young man who crashed a plane into that building down there. That has nothing to do with this. Bush knew ahead of time.
#1.Didn't wasn't concerned!
#2.Didnt enforce any state codes!(example martial law)
not saying he needed to just giving an example.
#3.If this was an unknown the first person he should have talked to was the secretary of defense to see if it was an attack.
Clearly it was after the secound plane hit. Yet he didnt met with them till later on that evening.
AND U GUYS SAY STAY CALM IN FRONT OF THE KIDS
this was 10x more inportant than some damn kids this is the United States being attacked.

Thanks for the Air force one video link mOjOm
There is one question that has gone unanswered and that has to deal with the "Put options' someone or group purchased on those Airline companies a day or two before 9/11, if I remember correctly that investigation was halted by the Bush Administration as well.
As the saying goes follow the money, or who has the most to gain?
