Would You Castrate Sex Offenders?

For child rapists? Where there is DNA evidence left on/in the child?

I would say leave them to the mercy of the parents, but we know that won't happen.

Life without parole.

I have two uncles who are prison guards, and they tell me these child rapists usually don't last very long.

Studies have repeatedly shown that castration is no way of stopping sex offenders. And if you use your imagination a little, you can figure out why anything short of death won't stop anybody from doing what they feel compelled to do.

I think some sex offenders should be castrated. Serial rapists and child molesters that raped many kids should be castrated. I am sick of the government cuddling the real criminals and going down hard on people who made a mistake.

Well that is true, those sickos that rape many people and raped kids if they are male should have their penis cut off. That put a stop to that. I have family members that are victims and I want those sickos punished to the fullest after ruining lives.

Someone suggested we leave it to the parents of a child that is/was a victim.

it is the only bumper sticker sized answer that I would agree with. It is almost one of those lines like..."what would Jesus do".
....but also like "broken sword" or "sword" said, this topic has been covered a lot in other threads.

Just so I didn't waste all of this time for nothing, I leave those of you that might not know the following;

1) watch if your kid is uncomfortable around any of your family or relatives..I would rank high family babysitters that are male.
(my quick opinions here are based on reading the offense histories of over 150 committed sex offenders and of course the 10yrs with them)
2) the offenders were almost always victims when they were children. If you have a male child that was a victim, watch closely for signs of becoming an offender...(sounds horrible but I'm not wasting time with the pc stuff)

3) NUMBER 1 WARNING The offender will use threats to harm you(parent) or other family members if they tell on them or that you (parent) and family members will not understand, and/or blame them, shame them. You MUST find a way to convey to your child that if anyone threatens any member of the family to tell you.....(assure them you can take care of it)

What are you crazy!!? I could become a sex offender just by hiring a prostitute and you think I should be castrated for that!? What about all the teenagers that have been labeled a sex offender for sexting? Lets castrate them too!? I wish this topic would stay off of ATS as it lowers the sites standards in my opinion. Not to mention shows how ignorant some people can be!

General sex offenders? No. There are things that'll get you on the list these days that are pretty ridiculous. Now, specific classes of sex offenders? Absolutely. I'd happily do it to proven child molesters, though.

Sex offenders? lol...dude, flashers are sex offenders. (goto new orleans around mardi gras and you will see tons of sex offenders clambering for beads)
no...now repeated sex predators...maybe...but sex offenders are to child molesters as a shoplifter is to a bank robber overall...its a general catagory. Some crimes are bad, some are laughable, and some are just stupid.

The sex offender term is soo broad now that you get no perspective beyond "omg, scarlette letter!".

I think the idea of "punishment" is a good one but i dont think cutting off genitalia will stop or halt the problem.

Life in jail...as in LIFE. Not 25 years then 10 years if our good sh*t. Stick them in a room with 1 matrass, 1 bucket, 1 blanket and a Bible. None of this PS3's, Xbox's etc that they ahve now.

Then throw away the key.

I think that repeat molestation would qualify...and not like...some 20 year old boned a 15 year old, got slapped, then did her again because he didn't care type offenses...but rather the 50 year old doing the 7 year old type thing. aka, the actual monsters.

A rather large amount of sex-offenders, in fact, do not use their penis while performing their various crimes. Many just try to act out their perverted fetishes, others simply molest. Some of them literally have micro-penises (medical term, not mine.. seriously) and can't use them appropriately if they tried. Some have erectile dysfunction. Some are just lecherous old men who can hardly stand up to urinate let alone perform a valid sexual act.

Also, this is an entirely sexist premise, for one. The OP classifies "Sex Offenders" as strictly male, as if only males can be sex offenders. So, what would be the mutilating punishment for female offenders.. ? Anyone?

If you are talking a repeat offender Then yes.

Why? For the same reason I castrate bulls, studs, bucks, boars, rams, dogs, cats.... It changes their behavior and makes them more "law abiding"

Mares, cats, dogs... are sometimes fixed for that reason too.

Over the course of 20 years ,i look for missing kids who are reported missing,and i also find the petifers in some cases that might lead me to the missing child.
I woudnt go as far as to say castrate,but in the course of 20 some years,i have had alot of fun with them before the police came and its been plenty of times i wanted to do that.
i just prefer to use a hammer ,maybe a needle,a kick or 20 in the groin.i hate those 'mf', every chance i get i try to bring the child some kind of justice.
