I love the idea. I'm just not sure my eyes can take reading an entire novel on an LCD screen, plus I can't take my PC to bed.

I hear you. There's actually a tidal wave of questions on how this will all play out. I just found today's NYTimes article announcing the Google Editions debut. It does help to clarify some issues:
