A B.C. lawyer has filed a complaint with the Vancouver police, urging them to investigate whether Tom Flanagan, a former campaign manager for Prime Minister Stephen Harper, broke the law when he said WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange should be assassinated.

Gail Davidson, a co-founder of the group Lawyers Against the War, wrote in the complaint that, on Nov. 30, Flanagan "counselled and/or incited the assassination of Julian Assange contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada," while commenting on the CBC program Power & Politics.

I should damn well think so too. It is totally unacceptable that these thugs can make a public call for someone to be murdered. If we did the same we would be branded a terrorist.

Wiikileaks is flushing out the rats and their garbage.

Someone in the US should file a complaint against Palin and the other guy who called for his assasination-wouldn't the "hate crimes" law cover calling for someone to be murdered?

Its so typical of tyrants to start throwing their toys out of the pram when things go against their machine-but when everyone else has to put up with a stasi like surveilance society we are told "nothing to hide-nothing to fear."

Well that mantra is now well and truly coming back to haunt them in the form of wikileaks.

Exactly. Palin should be charged with inciting hatred for that remark, and incitement to murder. It's absolutely and completely way beyond acceptable that politicians should be publicly calling for someone to be assassinated. It's worse than disgraceful and she should be stripped of all her official roles.

And yes, lol, they said they wanted transparency and now they're getting it - the real thing instead of just the window dressing they really intended....and they don't like it. Hubris! Karms's a bitch, as they say! Now they know how it feels! I am relishing seeing them squirm like this. Best tonic in a long time!
