A professional photographer named Wilbur Allen has been emailing various folks about an impressive gallery of photographs hosted on the 'National Geographic' website. He is seeking attention and I think he deserves it, and I'm curious about assessments by posters here. His cover letter is below (he gave his email and phone number but I'm leaving that out -- but will forward messages to him via u2u to me):

I am a professional photographer and former White House/Air Force One Engineer.

On July 16, 2002/August 03, 2008, and June 06, 2010, I made full contact with anomalous objects & took HD images; which can be seen on National Geographic Magazine.com:

ngm.nationalgeographic.com...#/gallery/68514/* (July 16, 2002)
This sample is the first of 3 full HD documentation's of anomalous incursions in US Airspace, and the first to fully document UFO landings (Close Encounters of the First -Fourth Kind, too include alien contact) at the US Capitol Building. (www.UFOdc.com...)

Here are the links, you have to copy and paste them as the hash sign won't post as a link

Beautiful photos, that's for sure..

I'd be prepared to dismiss these orbs and streaks as camera lens artifacts or lighting flares or what have you, but for me to go against a professional photographer on this issue would just be foolish of me.

I'm not sure of his/her professional prowess, but there seems to have been some sort of photo analysis performed, which is also a foreign subject for myself.

I have to say that the "hosted on National Geographic" line is a bit misleading, It's in their "MyShots" section which ANYONE can upload photos to.
Judging from some of the other images in his gallery I honestly doubt he is a professional photographer. Can anyone supply a link to his actual photography business?

why would you think he deserves attention?

In one of the links he said he's developed his own unique color-schema for image/video manipulation software that somehow is relevant to this. Colors not found on Earth he said?

Anyway, it's apparently something he uses in his UFO photography and he will sue you if you use it without license. His facebook account has alot of woo-woos onboard, but, then again; if you wanna get close to what ufos are really about, then the woo-woos are where it's at is what I always say.

Anyone who mentions plasma or plasmoid gets a listen from me, but I'm still basically lost on this OP, can someone explain the significance or lack thereof?

Why would Jim Oberg think this was relevant? Doesn't he usually debunk?

I debunk in my areas of expertise, where bunk appears. I have never said that all of this subject is bunk and in fact i always have maintained I admit the possibility that items of genuine interest could be among the body of reports. The sharper wee get at winnowing out the wheat from the chaff the closer we are to gaining an understanding of this phenomenon, even if only in its sociological and cultural angles.

That's cool and I definitely dig your attitude. So, what is it about these pics that have you intrigued enough to point them out? Do you have any suspicions outside the ETH that still involves a phenomena demonstrating intelligence? I sure do.

Thanks for your reply and now that you've been vetted so-to-speak and it looks like this thread is going somewhere I'll S&F

Very underwhelming photos. Looks like stray light and lens artifacts.

I was expecting close-up shots of nuts and bolts Adamski-like saucers!

Wilbur's also an abductee with implants!

I'm not a photo expert, but the first picture (the one with the building) looks like a reflection from the street light. The second one is more intriguing; I'm not sure what it is.

However, the red flags here are:
1). The guy is trying to imply some sort of connection to National Geographic, which is disingenuous.
2). His web site (www.ufodc.com) is full of junk and does not help his credibility.

I'd like more context for photo #2.

Plasmoids? Someone say Plasmoids?

Jim a debunker? Nah he is really a closet UFO buff but don't let anyone know

First one looks like time exposures of an airplane.. overlaid The fact that the street lamps have multiple stars seems to show several overlays of the same image, seconds apart

Second one looks like forerunner of book cover

Now if your talking PLASMOID... well this one of his is better

But most likely a highly over exposed helicopter with spotlight and red light

So why you think these are worthy?

BTW thanks for the NASA press link... Unfortunately I was not home in time to catch it live
But appreciate the heads up

And here's what he most likely took a photo of:

A long exposure shot of a plane or helicopter...

Mr. Allen believes that his photographs, which are forensic in quality...

I laughed heartily!

This should be in the hoax forum IMHO

Oooooo goody putting a Jim Oberg thread in the dreaded [HOAX] forum... has a certain charm to it

I see this pic on Allen's website as well the fake Washington UFO's 1952 version made for a documentary ( the blue one, the yellow one is the original)

History channel documentary

Thing is now everyone thinks the blue reenactment is real footage, just further muddying the waters

Thank you!

The way this guy presents his work as "professional" is an embarrassment.

And what was that about colors not seen on earth (or something to that effect)?

Is anyone really buying this?

To be honest I think the parrot was an abductee...

Honestly, works of an under / over developed mind.

The photo's at best, are misleading.
