I think what that person is saying is that you shouldnt be proud of these explorers because you personally have absolutely nothing to do with them.
Pride is something that should be reserved for achievements that you personally accomplished and not traits that you were born with and really have no
true connection to.
For example: do you feel pride for having your hair color? Do you feel pride because of the hospital you were born in? Are you proud that you are so
tall? Being proud of these things is a bit like being proud of some abstract connection you have to explorers, it all happened without your input. How
could it be something that you feel a degree of excellence through achievement about?
Ok Ok. This really is a somewhat obscure concept and would require much explanation to truly convey. It essentially requires a thorough examination of
pride itself, the ego and also identity in general.
Essentially, pride is not something that can be felt about something that is intrinsic or inherent in a persons history or character. Things like
national pride, ethnic pride and family pride really are one of the biggest deceptions ever orchestrated by TPTB.
Pride can only really be felt in regards to something you have had an impact on yourself, something you had a say in determining. It can not be felt
through circumstances that you merely fell into such as your skin color or ethnic history. How can one be proud of something that they have nothing to
I am not proud because I am tall or smart. That is just something that was determined without my input. I am proud because of the book that I wrote,
the invention I created, the speed in which I improved my 100meter record, these are the things that pride may come from, not skin color or heritage
which all come from HAPPENSTANCE.
