Can anyone that remembers arcades from the 80's tell me what I am remembering here.

It was a full scale model of a house full of Hill billy characters that you shot at with a kind of rifle and they would move if you hit them.
These were actual waxwork type figures not a traditional arcade game.
I seem to remember one of them was making moonshine, one was sitting on a toilet etc etc

I can;t find any reference to it, but it used to give me nightmares

Tell me I am not imagining this

anyone whos fed up with shoot em up, `magic potion`, `kill everyone`, grand auto or whatever the hogwash you get these days.. i would really recommend a game called mount and blade warband..

it is medieval times, you know shields armour cross bows spears swords, cavalry..

theres no blasting through houses machine gunning everybody down..this is as close to the real thing as you get

theres no `quests, magic potions, regenerating life` its very realistic.. its so different to any game your used to, i assure you, its got multiplayer, and many mods to it too.

its very cheap on steam as well.. here is a clip of it!

seriously BUY IT!

Maybe you dont fully understand flags and stars. Flags are for threads that interest you, and stars are for posts. This is in BTS, this is NOT considered "news" but an interest. There is a vast difference between "ATS" and "BTS".

Peace, NRE.

Ecco the Dolphin. A game that left me extremely frustrated. There was one level I couldn't pass and eventually gave up on. I would like to try it again today to see if I could figure out what I was missing now. Its one of those little things that will probably bother me the rest of my life.

One of the first games I remember playing was Q-bert on my Atari.
Nothing beats the Kings Quest and Space quest series in my book. My entire gaming life was influenced by these games. Might explain why I have always favored PC gaming over console gaming.

You are not imagining it. I believe the game you're talking about is called Gunslinger. I believe they have it at Dave and Busters in Marietta, GA.

Agghhhh.

More nightmares! It was very similar to that but the characters were a bit different and they were in a wooden barn. It's close though.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Elite. A groundbreaking game. An amazing 7000 worlds to explore, trade and battle through, a staggering feat considering the BBC b only had 32k of ram. Makes me laugh when I look at the bloated stuff today's so called software engineers come up with.

I lost a large part of my 12th year to this bad boy!!

Apologies for broken link. No idea why. Search YouTube for "elite BBC b"

I was addicted to Pool Of Radiance and that game was the one that made me purchase Hillsfar, Which I was Highly Dissapointed with, although I did like the archery part...

and anyone who has ever played POR will remember this Epic encounter :

Man I really miss some of those old clunky games,
Nothing llike hiring 2 or 3 npcs and taking them out into the woods and sacking them at the end of random encounter when thier hps are low...

ohh man!! I was a GODDESS on Defender!

*sigh* Now I feel oh so nostalgic, I just might have to go style my do with some major crispy bangs and throw on something neon with my jelly flats and scramble to find some batteries for my walkman, try to score a California Cooler and sneak outside for a smoke. Now where did I put my Giorgio perfume to cover up the ciggy smell.
If the 'rents catch me smoking.. I will be grounded fur sure!

So true!!!

This game still holds the title of the most confusing levels ever created in a console FPS. But I will never forget the awesome feeling of blowing off a lizard soldiers legs with the proximity mine gun. Oh the Gibs!!

Star for you sir!
