I have various things that give me an "experience" (not sure what to call it, other than that). One of the best is to get the water in the shower to the point right between pain and pleasure, and allow it to run down over my scalp. You can feel the hot little tendrils of water as they gain enough surface tension to overcome the hairs that lie in their path (most of the water bounces off when it hits). This short circuits my optic nerve, and I can actually see my brain. Well...i can see strange patterns that I have identified as being the loops and such in my brain. Most the surface, or just below the surface, always bilateral in configuration, and of the exact same shade and composition as the phosphenes that I see so often.
