The Internet keeps us at home, unactive, sated, and quelled. Why in the world would any government want to take the opiate away from the masses?

This IS the drug that keeps us from rebelling. This IS our bread and circuses.

As obvious as it is, see how successful it is.

You are welcome to make a homepage on whatever you want to do. If you want to tell the public about hidden things (like wikileaks) then do so. We won't stop you, we would probably support you! You got the chance to be a rebel, and many are. The thing is just, do you really want to do it? Do you got 'time' for it?

It already is censored. It is just going to be moreso than before. But fear not, you won't even notice. It will be like finding "no results" when you look for something that should very clearly have SOME results. Think of it like a zombie in a little square white room. It hits a wall, grunts, turns around, and hits the wall behind him. Repeating the process until he has knocked enough sense into himself to realize that he's been trapped in a little white box the whole time.

A simple filter to block out all gratuitious truth.

They can't shut it down..Every business relies on the internet as do all Government agencies..
It would also IMO, be last straw for many people tired and awakening to what is happening in this world..

The number of Internet users, presently is listed as 1,966,514,816 ( Source ), or about 28.7% of the worlds entire population. In the west, using the US as an example, the permeation is much higher, or about 77.4%.

So, yes, the masses.
