This is a very cool DIY USB generator that runs off your breathing. This is a device that you wear on your chest. The links below are for the source page and then the "How to"

Source

Breath powered USB charger

This would be a very useful tool if and when the SHTF.

Blowing on anything fixes it... Take the old SNES cartridges for instance

This is true... however, this doesnt take any thought. Just put it on and your generating power.

Uhh isnt this just a very small wind powered turbine?

blowing a lot as opposed to just breathing?

I can use my fan to do it, but still either way I am still expending more energy than giving to a charge, unless casual breathing is now increased to the point of being worth while?

Might work if you're exercising. I didn't read the full thing, it has too many bits...

The energy produced by the generator can be adjusted by different gear ratios. Blowing in a small wind turbine would produce energy aswell... but who would want to sit around blowing in a fan for hours, instead of just wearing this device and walking around.

Better start eating those cotton swabs then.

This device has nothing to do with blowing on anything!

It works by using the expansion of your chest when you breath to move gears that drive a generator / motor.

I think it's a pretty clever idea
