They don't all rotate in the same direction. But nice anyway...So Jupiter must really move fast in its orbit to cover that much turf in only a couple days

Jupiter travels at 13.07 km/s

Roughly 1.13 million kms a day..
Sun's diameter roughly 1.4 million kms
Now I have no idea how to judge that given them pics..

That video was over 7 days Chad..
I don't know enough about SOHO, distance from the sun etc, to work it out..

I think it's strange, and not the first time I've seen a 'dot' on soho footage that has been deduced to be a ufo.

The difference here is that the last footage I saw had 2 in it, they moved relatively quickly & changed direction before entering the sun causing a flare on the other side.

Personally I'm ok with it being a ufo, I don't see why it can't be

If we have not yet determined what it is then it's a UFO as it's unidentified.

Im just wondering if you have heard anything yet? Have we ruled out the hot pixel idea? From what Im getting out this so far is it is to fast for a planet and to slow for comet or what have you? Do I have that right so far?

As I see it lots of stuff aren't as we known it to be or was taught it to be.

Same with Life, I have said many times that "Life" doesn't always need what we the Human needs to live.

Well the first one, if a planet, goes behind the sun..Therefore it must be one of the bigger planets to be so visible at that distance..Saturn?

STEREO is two cameras, located roughly equidistant from Earth. The one featured in the video is AHEAD, which is the one preceeding Earth in it's orbit. Working on the assumption that the anomaly is Jupiter, that should mean that it would also appear in the BEHIND camera at some point shortly after. The STEREO website helpfully provides a tool to work out where each camera is at any given time, at stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov.... It shows that for the dates given (Dec 2008), Jupiter should be seen by the AHEAD camera. By estimating when Jupiter should be visible in the BEHIND camera, and putting in those dates, the same anomaly cropped up as in the original vid posted by the OP.

Try going to the STEREO archive, and inputting the dates 20090305 start and 20090328 end, and you can see Jupiter coming in from the left side of the screen again. Also, Mercury comes in from the right and moves towards the left.

I think it is..I know some said it moves to fast but upon researching SOHO a little I don't think so..

SOHO is only 1.5m kms from Earth..Nothing really considering the sun is 90-150m kms away..
So it looks like SOHO zooms in on a very small area in regards to orbits..
I did notice it took Jupiter about a day to pass behind the sun in that vid..
That's about right..

Also, if you look at the larger images by STEREO (e.g. the 512 resolution ones and higher), you can see that Jupiter travels at roughly the same speed as the stars in the background, if a little slower.

After looking a bit closer, I think you can also see Mars in that particular time range, as the bright spot that appears just before Jupiter, just below it, and moves a lot slower through the screen.

My guess is that it's either a planet or comet/asteroid but that's just my guess....

If not, then it's obviously some anomaly we know nothing of...but I imagine if we track the orbits and compare them to what we do know it will end up being one or the other previously mentioned.

Other comparable SOHO footage and footage of planets and comets/asteroids going by....
