I was asked to sign a few Christmas cards going to troops in Afghanistan. Not sure what to write, here's a few ideas, but I need your input - What would you write?

* take care, thanks for what you're doing over there

or

* we're praying for you, Merry Christmas

or

* please stop killing innocent civilians for the Elite

or

* no matter what happens lay down your arms if asked to particpate in a Police State / Martial Law America

or

* keep blastin' Terrorists

What say you

As you have no idea who might get it, how long they've been there or what they've done personally I would refrain from insulting or stereotyping anybody. (and its "Martial" law).

Regardless of your or my personal thoughts on the war they are still young people that are spending Christmas away from their families and loved ones in a unfamiliar and dangerous place.

How about
Wishing you a happy and safe Christmas and a speedy return home to your loved ones

I'm not sure a christmas card is a good place to make a political point

As you're not going to be able to predict the religion of the soldiers that your cards are going to reach I'd keep it general:

Happy Holidays
&
Thank You

Sincerely,
The __________ Family

P.S. Remember what you're fighting for, and apply it.

You can write:

Bud,

Thanks for being over there for Christmas and hunting down old Obama Bin Laden.

Your best American Pal,
Ronnie "TOUGH GUY" Williams

I would say this is about just perfect..It's one thing to be alone at Christmas, another to be in a foreign country in a war...

Well said davespanners..
