Bad news? Really?
Because I am American and have been living in Europe for about the past 5 years, plus 4 years prior, and I can assure you, were I to return home, I
would be kissing the ground rather than rioting. In fact, I am not the only one.
Sure, things back home could get bad. But after living in "nanny state utopia" for a few years,
If cramped living space, ridiculously high taxes, an unhealthy dependancy on the government to coddle you from cradle to grave, high cost of living,
and regulation down to your bodily functions is somehow your idea of "high standards of living" well, that's your own call. I really don't see
anyone back home rioting for that. Well, maybe in New England and California. But elsewhere....nah.....
Universal healthcare and extra yearly slack off time really don't cut it, and given the current economic crisis that is putting a domino hurt on the
EU, plus the serious austerity measures being drawn up all over the place, I see those vacations getting slashed, health benefits tightened and
lessesned in an attempt to cut costs and keep the country from total economic collapse, ect.
In fact, funny thing is, even with all these nifty benefits, it's the Europeans I see rioting in the streets and going berserk that they are going to
actually have to fend for themselves more. Major rioting back home? Nope.
