EXCLUSIVE: Troops Likely to See 'Fahrenheit'

American Armed Services overseas are in talks with Lion Gate Films to acquire copies of Michael Moore's documentary, "Fahrenheit 9/11", a spokesman at Army and Air Force Exchange Service told the European and Pacific Stars and Stripes newspaper Thursday.

Service policy is to screen films that are popular in the states.

LOL. You know Bush will flip out if he hears about this. I understand he has forbidden anyone who works at the White House from seeing the movie. I predict Field Marshal von Rumsfeld will make sure that no American military personnel see Fahrenheit 9/11, at least not under offfical U.S. government auspices.

I highly doubt any US Military installation will carry F911 for a simple reason. It won't sell with the US Military. The folks in the military are too smart to believe any of the lies, slander, and out right garbage that Michael Moore spews. The propaganda (NOT a documentary, because documentaries have to be truthful and this isn't), won't make it because of that, not because someone won't allow it. That's dumb. And to state that G.W. 'FORBIDS' people at the White House from seeing the film is dumb too. This is America. No one can forbid another person from seeing a movie. They can give the movie bad reviews and advise them to save their hard earned money for something better, but no one - not even the president - has the power to 'FORBID' people in their work office from seeing a movie. That's nutz.

A lot of american troops don't know why they're there and the Arabs share the same view. F 9/11 just skews the truth a tad little to sway the americans in voting Bush out. The films totally commited to Bush bashing, and the proceed go to various charities. The charity thing backs up Moore's view on downsizing and encourages others to follow. Moore's a genius to say the least. His physical appearance outlines the average American, and because of that people will listen to him. Love him or Hate him he will always be an American.

My brother is over there and he knows exactly why he is there. Only someone in a coma on 9/11 doesn't know why we are there. We were attacked WITHOUT provocation (despite what the anti-American marxists say). It was an act of war worse than Pearl Harbor. The Arabs know why we are there. Their Wahabbis are out of control. Ask the Royal House of Saud in Saudi Arabia. They are 'dead men walking'. Civil war is upon them, and it is of their own making. Appeasing the Wahabbis. They hand fed the croc, and now the croc is going to bite the hand that fed them.

Everyone in the military knows exactly why we are in the Iraq and Afghanastan. The Arabs in control of those areas know it too.

F/911 doesn't tell anyone why we are in Afghanastan and Iraq. It DOES spew erroneous propaganda that Michael Moore WANTS people to think is the reason we are there.

Are you saying that Saddam was complicit in the 9/11 attack? That's what our current unelected military regime wants you to think, but there is no real proof that Saddam is linked with the attack.

And I'm curious, what does being a marxist have to do with supporting or opposing a ficticious "war"?

Notice how many anti govornment people come from the military.

Seeing this film will confirm alot of suspicions the soldiers had to begin with.

Flyer, dont think just because they are in the military they support this sick bastard in office and his policies. I remeber all too well how many of us discussed theories, suspicions, and rumors out of earshot of the higher ups. This movie will be seen by alot of troops, one way or another. Especially if they try and ban the thing.

I am a veteran of the United States Army. I know full well that the troops don't have to always agree with the Commander in Chief. I was fortunate enough to get out before Clinton got in office. I remember the troops groaning that he was in and that he was a jerk etc. etc. etc.

However, the troops who are in now DO understand the mission. It is an honorable mission. No, the reason for war was not 'made up'. You all must be thinking of the war Bill Clinton got into with Bosnia. No immenent danger to USA and in fact no danger to USA at all, no UN mandate, no other countries that agreed with us and went in with us. Clinton went in because the Slobo was murdering tens of thousands of Muslims. That's it.

Now - Iraq. YES, Iraqis met with Al-Qaida people. I doubt they discussed buying girl scout cookies. Iraq paid for and sponsored international terrorism including payments of $50,000 to the families of each Palestinian homicide bomber. Saddam is out ... how many homicide bombings are there now compared to while he was in office? Saddam ran more than a few terrorist training camps - complete with Boeing 727s that were practiced on for hijackings. Saddam openly said that he wanted to send West Nile Virus to the USA. It's here now. Some think he may have accomplished that.

I too doubt Saddam had a direct link with 9/11. However, he was a serious threat because of his sponsoring of international terrorism. The terrorists who have vowed to destroy America.

When the troops see the F911 propaganda, they'll dis it, booo it, and probably throw their mess hall food at the screen (which won't be much of a loss - mess hall food wasn't the best).

BTW - AL GORE believes the troops overwhelmingly support George Bush. Afterall, it was Al Gore who tried desperately to have the Military ballots NOT counted in Florida during the recount (which G.W. won and won and won). He knew the troops would vote overwhelmingly for a strong military leader - George Bush - and not for Al Gore.

OH YES, THE MARXIST THING - The Anti-American Marxists are against this war because they want America to fail. They hate America. If America fails in this world war against terror, the Marxists will be happy little campers because America will cease to be.

He praises the millitary throughout the film, i dont get it, the whole thing is dedicated to the millitary and 911 victims.

He shows everyone for what they are in the movie, the pictures speak for themselves, it humanises the whole aspect of the war, takes bush and his admin off their untouchable god like pedistool and shows them for what they really are "before makeup".

Why is everyone quick to lable this movie? because it raises questions your own media are too scared or "patriotic" to ask?

It gives you a visual dose of reality, go see it, its really good.

Sounds just like the "war" we have going on now. I'm sure you'll disagree, however.

Clinton went in because the Slobo was murdering tens of thousands of Muslims. That's it.
That's it? I think that's at least a good reason to consider intervention. It sure beats "He tried to kill my daddy" as a reason.

I'm sure he did sponsor terrorism, but we, the US that is, supported him until the late 1980s. We gave him the gas he used to kill thousands of Kurds. Oh yeah, we trained and backed bin Laden and his cronies as well. So it seems that we're not squeeky clean in this whole terrorism mess. For some reason, we like to forget about all that stuff we did during the Reagan era. Hey, the past is the past, right?

Afterall, it was Al Gore who tried desperately to have the Military ballots NOT counted in Florida during the recount (which G.W. won and won and won).

I guess that evens him up with Bush, who kept African American votes from being counted. And nothing will change the fact that Bush was appointed by the Supreme Court. Maybe he would've won a total recount/revote, but that didn't happen. He was appointed. And anyway, who gives a crap about Gore? Gore is irrelevant because he isn't in office. Neither is Clinton, but it sure seems popular to bash him four years after the fact.

The Anti-American Marxists are against this war because they want America to fail. They hate America.
I'm against this war. Does that make me a Marxist? And also, where are these evil marxists located? Do they have a headquarters somewhere? I'm still confused.

So ... it's okay for Clinton (on his own) to go into the Balkins when tens of thousands of Muslims are being slaughtered, but it isn't okay for G.W. (with 45 other countries) to go into Iraq when MILLIONS of Muslims are being slaughtered? That's nutz

G.W. DID NOT keep African American votes from being counted. I'm sure the Gore bunch want people to think that, but it just isn't true. I'm sure if it were, there would have been lawsuits against Bush and won by black voters in Florida. Show proof of this... but of course you can't because it didn't happen. The only one who wanted to supress votes was Al Gore. He wanted the military ballots thrown out. Why? Because people who understand the security needs for this country vote Republican. And there IS proof of this because there are newsbites showing Al Gore and his people saying he wants the military absentee votes tossed.

I'm sorry that you are confused about the whole Marxist thing. You asked about a 'headquarters'. Since you asked, I would be glad to assist you with this. The Marxists are much like the terrorists the world faces now. There is no visible headquarters in a city somewhere. They are a shadowy and fluid bunch of evil doers (yes, evil exhists) who want to destroy America and take over. Right now the Republic of America is the common enemy of the terrorists and the Marxists. The Marxists leave their footprints everywhere. Their radical left wing (not just left wing, but RADICAL left wing) agenda can be seen everywhere. Check Nickelodian some morning (how do you spell that kids channel with the cartoons?). Look at the trash being taught in the public schools and look at what the NEA has been indoctrinating our children with. Look around. You'll see them.

BTW - you are against the war? That doesn't necessarily make you a Marxist. Uniformed perhaps, but not necessarily a Marxist.

Um, sorry to burst your balloon(-ey), but my husband is in the military and they have access to all the same propaganda films, slanderous films and questionable films as the rest of the country, even when they are out of the country.

Then I'm confused considering the Vietnam Vet I went with on July 4th (my second time) thought it was the most Patriotic thing he could do that day and loved the movie.

The glowing reception by an all military audience in Ft. Bragg NC kind of blows your theory as well.

www.michaelmoore.com...

Think about it. Your spouse is in Iraq or you just got back or are shipping out soon? And you're saying the smart people don't go see the record breaking movie about the Iraq War...they go see Spiderman 2?

You do realize the message is pro soldier don't you? No, of course you don't. Well it is. Big time.

Have you kept up with the change in opinion since it actually came out? Or are you still stuck on the Republican critisicms sight unseen?

Freakin' Dale Earnhardt Jr. told his crew to go and urged everyone to go see it. It just keeps getting bigger and people that thought they hated Mike Moore are liking the movie in spite of themselves.

Not all. I know some that hated it. But at least they know why they hated it. They saw it.
More than most critics can say.

Eh, some of the stuff Michael Moore says is right on, and some of it is out in left field. My husband feels the same way about it. We both view Michael Moore as an average, highly-opinionated capitalist, who, in an effort to criticize his country, has managed to bring some important issues up for public discussion and some downright nonsense up for public consumption. Personally, I think he needs to re-evaluate some of his facts, as he now has the responsibility to the country he seeks to educate to give them factual information, not misleading bits scattered in amongst the facts, not half-truths.

One of the misconceptions he seems to have is that somehow the republican party was re-built on the backside of the conspiracy theory and that republicans are basically a bunch of hard right wingers, religious wackos and neo-nazis. Nope. This is not so, as anyone here at ATS can attest to, most conspiracy theorists, hard righters, religous wackos and neo-nazis, don't like the republican administration anymore than Moore does. Sadly, the entire democratic party thinks they are addressing their real enemy when they refer to repubs as non-educated, backwoods, gun-toting illiterates out of one side of their mouths and highly-educated, sophisticated rich people, out of the other side of their mouths. This has been the democratic party's problem for many years now. They don't know the american people anymore. They have started believing their own lies.

I normally don't respond to your posts, because your posts are so filled with errors, erroneous opinions, misrepresentations, and misinformation, that there is really no point in trying to deal with someone who is wrong about everything, yet is convinced that he is right about everything.

But I couldn't resist replying to your ridiculous assertions in this post. Contrary to your assertion, the overseas soldiers are seeing Fahrenheit 9/11. Contrary to your assertion, they are believing it. The author of the following piece is a soldier stationed in Kuwait. He shares your point of view, but concedes that he is in a minority.

We know this is all based on Moore's lies and deceptions. But we, I'm afraid, are a minority.

Read it and weep.
