Last time I thought about thinking, I realized either I've been talking to myself or listening to inner thought processes._javascript:icon('

Mostly because I've never had a reason to think otherwise.

Yes, pretty weird.

Care to explain where you think the consciousness resides?
For me the brain seems like a computer operated by a user.

It's easy. I'm not ignorant nor am I that insane!

Consciousness is essentially self-awareness. We know there are areas of the brain which are used to keep a temporal-spacial awareness of our selves. If these areas are damaged enough, self awareness ceases to exist. You can see people who clearly display this brain damage in certain cases of psychosis, autism, and schizophrenia.

If you loose a limb, your consciousness stays intact.
If your brain is damaged, your consciousness is damaged.

It is electromagnetic energy moving through your nerves and different corners of your brain - associated with reality and experience, the brain is nothing other than our computer/guide on our journey through life as humans. Humans being sentiel creatures that perceive reality/complexity with an immediate understanding separate than anamalistic responses/triggers that occur for survival in the primative area of the brain- the cerebral cortex.

Consciousness is essentially an immediate awareness of importance - this is governed by emotions that determine what aspects of life we love and hate, attract and avoid, accept and deny.

Na your brain is just a receiver for your mind.

enough said.

Your brain transmits out and receives.

Lots of autistics in this thread, as I can see. Asperger's here. I used to make the same computer analogy. It's entirely inaccurate, but you kiddos enjoy these massive belief systems which you guys/gals seem to need so badly.

Nice horse dude.

Seriously, do you have to be so condescending?
Seems like you are the one clinging to beliefsystems, getting so riled up about it.

For someone like me who found out they use electroinic mind control at school in 1992, i would think my view is the correct one.

You people need to do some research.

I don't believe that we die and that's it, that would be to weird. The Universe is just too huge.
There's this very interesting video that I've seen the other day. I kinda share similar beliefs.
I think that our conciousness is somehow linked to our brain, like some sort of electromagnetic field, but goes somewhere else after this.

Questions Questions ..

Your consciousness is your soul and or spirit body....

Your brain is just the here and now purveyor of realness, the mechanism that connects the spirit to the carnal world.

Your IAMness is what's important, your basic essence..

Point of reference. When I close my eyes, I "feel" the center in the middle of my head. I am a solipsist, and so thinking I was the center of the universe was rather easy for me. Position is irrelevant to me. No matter where I am at in the world, I always feel like I'm the center. I should clarify, I've walked away a bit from my old solipsist self.

So you quite literally are self-centered!

That's a very bizarre thing for me to imagine. So foreign. Interesting, nonetheless.

I don't get it. What's the horse reference about?

I was just speaking my mind. It gets very frustrating listening to people who make no logical sense whatsoever.

Pretty much makes me want to puke, but that's just how I am.
