Aren't the exercises not scheduled for another few hours if I was reading right earlier? I thought I read somewhere the exercises weren't supposed to officially start until 3:00 or something like that Seoul time. Are the ships positioning themselves or did they start sooner than I believed?

can't self filter, I mean I just don't get it period nor why you'd need an ignore button to simply ignore someone, as if our brains lack the ability.

Anyhoo, I am curious as to how all this plays out, hoping it calms don't need more deaths.

Maybe it's a false flag, but I know how Commies are thinking and if they want to prove they have power, they'll shot. Right now I'm worrying for those people on Korean waters, because the George Washington is a can be considered as a sitting duck against 60+ NK submarines what the Commies have. I'm just calculating the odds and if only one of the sides is making just a little mistake or overreacting the situation, hell will broke out and the U.S. can say bye-bye to one CVN.

The only sources worth following right now are from South Korea. Everyone else is just picking up SK feeds, and information takes a bit of time to process. If you want to know what's happening fast: english.yonhapnews.co.kr...
or the excellent RV link posted earlier in this thread, if you speak a bit of korean.

I have just one question... how is it possible that the U.S. Command is not considering the odds right now. What do the North Koreans have? Submarines. Plenty of submarines. Around 60+. And the U.S. is sending 1 aircraft carrier along with 4 escort ships into Korean waters (Presumably 4 destroyers, or 3 destroyers & 1 cruiser, or 2 destroyers & 2 cruisers). So my question is... what the U.S. Naval Command really thinking?

If the North Koreans wants to make a war, which seems it's in their best interest, right now the U.S. Command is sent one slightly defended carrier group into the war zone, right in front of the torpedo tubes of countless enemy submarines.

I'm not that good with numbers, but if the NK is sending out just 40% of their subs, the U.S. can say bye-bye to the George Washington as nothing will be able to defend it from that overwhelming submarine force (Destroyers are outnumbered and the onboard helos are also insufficient to protect the CVN against this force if they're going to face with it.).

True, and I was thinking the same thing. However, we don't know what the US has in the area that they're NOT telling us about - including subs. I would bet good money that they're holding some cards close to their chest.

The North dose not want war. They want Kim JR to look competent. In a few days the drills will be over, and the North will proclaim junior was victorious in defeating the mighty US. Sending them away in defeat.

In the mean time they will set off charges and artillery blanks as a show for the NK people. They have everything to loose and know it. Regime change propaganda. False Flag for the NK

My fear is the son is 26 years old, and we all know how hot headed and cocky we were at that age.

My thoughts exactly. And add that he is a 26 year old Commie. Commies are never good in any of the ages, especially when they're in their twenties.

Carrier strike groups usually travel with 1 or 2 subs. I tried yesterday to find out what support ships the GW was bringing but only found references to 4 ships. Regardless of what we "officially" say we deployed, you can be damned sure we sent subs.

Even if two or four subs is with them, it's still insufficient protection against 60+ subs. And only one must hit the GW. So mathematically the GW has not a single chance, regardless there are 2 or 4 subs along with the 4 warship escort. If the NK is willing to take her down, she will go down. That's simple mathematical odds.

The new leader is probably showing state video of the arrival of the US aircraft carrier and the US/SK war games going on. They will then show the deployment of the NK missiles in response to stand up to the foes. In a few days (after the exercises are done), NK will say they chased away (LMAO!!) the US aircraft carrier and that the US and SK suffered a military defeat.
