Afghan War Reaches Soviet Milestone

Often I hear on media about the Soviet Union leaving Afghanistan. Western media portrays the Soviet Union as defeated in Afghanistan on that day. But is that true ?

Well, if the objective of comrade Andropov was to occupy Afghanistan as a colony, then they lost.
What if instead, all they wanted was to stop the Jihadists dead in their tracks, and then simply leave. I am referring of course to jihadists supported by the US administration and by the Europeans.
