MOSCOW. Nov 26 (Interfax-AVN) - The crew returning from the International Space Station to the Earth on Friday had to fill the Soyuz TMA-19 with oxygen after pressure dropped, a source from the space industry told Interfax-AVN.
"A small drop in pressure in the Soyuz TMA-19 reentry vehicle occurred after it performed a maneuver for leaving orbit. Astronauts received instructions from the Earth to inflate the vehicle with oxygen from the spare cylinders," the source said.
The pressure drop posed no risk to the lives of the crew who were in spacesuits. "Specialists from the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation will soon sort out the problem and take steps to prevent such incidents in the future," the source said.
The report has been formally confirmed to Interfax-AVN.
The Energia Corporation, which made the Soyuz spacecraft, told Interfax-AVN that the astronauts were asked to provide information about the pressure level in the reentry vehicle, but the landing was carried out as usual.
The 25th ISS Expedition crew consisting of Russian cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin and U.S. astronauts Shannon Walker and Douglas Wheelock returned to the Earth on Friday.

A look inside of our ride home. This is the 'Descent Module' of our Soyuz spacecraft, 'Olympus'. Our Soyuz Commander Fyodor Yurchikhin in the center seat, Shannon to his left and me to his right. Here we are getting ready for our departure and return to the Earth on Thursday evening. That shiny silver dome in front of Fyodor is the hatch. Not long now... that hatch will open and we’ll get our first breath of fresh air in nearly 6 months!

Our Soyuz spacecraft 'Olympus' stands ready for flight... tonight we set sail for the blue planet. It has been nearly 6 months, and we are being called home. I hope to one day return to this place. Seems I’ve lived a hundred lifetimes... yet I blinked, and the time has slipped away. What will that first breath be like when the hatch opens on Earth? ...I can only imagine...

Not sure what your getting at with why the problem's are more frequent. Maybe NASA has been giving them technical help?



Or maybe it's time to stop using those old rust buckets and pull out the anti-gravity ships
