'Thunderstorm asthma' reaches epidemic proportion'

'Professor Jo Douglass, an allergy specialist, says Melbourne experienced some very unusual weather conditions in the past day or so with hot weather, humidity and a high pollen count'
"Normally we'd see about a tenth of that in a 24-hour period so you can imagine that's a substantial increase."

I have never heard of this before ,and 10 times the normal admissions is a big increase.
Anyone know if this is a common problem?.

Never heard of Thunderstorm Asthma.

I do know that high humidity, high pollen counts and hot weather have always been an enemy of asthma sufferers.

So are saunas and hot showers.

I know I have it, whether it's called "thunderstorm asthma" I have no idea, but the weather has been killing me with allergies as of late. Actually, this whole year has been a very bad year for allergies where I live. Hardly able to go outside without popping excessive amounts of allergy medicine or just not going outside period. It sucks because I'm a gardener and felt like my yard was a war zone this year. I'd be outside for 2 seconds and my whole head would feel like a balloon blowing up too fast, about to pop. The past week with the odd humid/hot temp at the end of November wasn't fun. The temp was nice of course, but the stuff floating around not so good. I couldn't even sleep for lack of being able to breathe easily that night.
