If somethign WERE to occur (we are not debated whetehr or not somethign will happen here) but lets say if something did actually happen, for instance lets use the 2012 movie, if those events occured:

How long would the timespan of the events up to the massive tsunamis last (for instance would i have time to get from Philly to Colorado)

Would the US declared martial law?

Would all of the disasters happen so rapidly you couldnt do anything about it

Im very sorry for porr grammar, i have sand in my keyboard.

i have a contingency plan INCASE something happens and want to get opinions on where i should go from philly. i have to pick up my girlfriend in richmond and my best friend in DC and drive to sacramento to get my sister

Also, if the 2012 theories actually happened, would communications go down?

when even the smallest wind storms knock out electricity, we can't even get gas for our cars.
having a major event go down will instantly disrupt all means of normal life. cell networks out, power, etc.

the best thing you can do is have them prepare for themselves a plan as well as yourself.
our infrastructure is very delicate.

NOAA

Its the center for tsunami research they give info on this but it is all hypothetical based on data from other events.
I don't think you will be able to drive fast enough for the delaware river is right there and will channel the water making it go faster and higher in this spot. Especially if that island off the coast of Africa has a landslide the whole east coast will be inundated. I used to live in Watchung, NJ on a big mountain overlooking NYC and the rest of NJ (RT 22) now I'm in the SW but when I was there I used to have dreams of seeing all the land below me just flooded with water. Another good place to look is here but it relates to global warming water levels.

Sea Level Rise Explorer

The island of La Palma, in the Canary Islands off the coast of North Africa is what I was referring to earlier.
