At the recent US midterms voters in Oklahoma were given the choice to ban Sharia law from being considered in courts.
At the recent midterm elections voters in Oklahoma were given the choice on the ballot in state question 755 – to vote to ban Sharia law from being considered in Oklahoma courts. It is probably not surprising that 70 per cent of them voted for this ban

If this has already been done, Mods, do what you need to do, thanks.

Why would this even be voted on? This is the United States. If you want to stone someone to death, hack off their hands or feet, cut their head off, circumsize/mutilate women's genitals or beat someone with a cane, then you need to go to those countries that practice those sorts of things. If you want women to wear full burka, only leave the house with a male escort, never learn to read, and believe their soul purpose for existing is to be a baby factory, then go to another country.

I don't understand why this was such a big issue?
No one was trying to bring Sharia Law in, so why the big noise?

well it seems that the ruling will be made , no later than the nov. 29 2010, the judge has issued the block should remain till then, "yahoo news" CAIR. i do not see why the judge can not say no ban the voters have spoken, like it or not. just my 2 cents on this.

Yes, sure...the Sharia law is banned in Ok...however, why did they not also vote to ban witchdoctors eating children? Clearly because they did not ban this, they must be for it...what sick and twisted person decided that witchdoctors eating children is fine in OK? and the whole state agreed it was fine anyhow...

next...why is there no law in OK saying zombie vampires cannot hold public office?

You know...once this passed, I wonder if the 30% that voted no are actually slapping their heads wondering wtf kind of place they are living in that not only seen fit to have this on their ballot, but it actually passing.

There are already laws on every book in the union that disallows the core of Sharia...its called...just..laws

Cut off someones hand? go to jail
Rape someone? go to jail
Stone someone? go to jail
honor kill someone? go to jail
enslave someone? go to jail
etc etc etc...religious freedom stops at breaking laws..

Some peoples racial fear overwhelms their common sense...completely stupid.
