I'd say not since back in WW11 when the US dropped two bombs on Japan, the fallout never reached here, or though we were told...

North Korea's best interest is to stand down.

Well according to all the information we have, North Korea did intend to bomb the hell out of the island. They backed down just because China/US asked them to.

If China/US had been busy elsewhere, didn't take this seriously, the whole thing would have gone down.

Im sure this is far from over the little guy loves his drama...

Chinese Media Express Concern over S.Korean Military Drills

Chinese media are expressing concern over the military exercises South Korea held in Pocheon near the inter-Korean border on Thursday.

The China Youth Daily said that South Korea is raising tensions with its series of massive military drills and that Seoul’s military and political hard-line stance against North Korea is escalating tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

Well all the various isotopes have half lives from weeks to billions of years... So give nature enough time and everywhere gets irradiated somehow. A microscopic speck of uranium is not going to reduce in radioactivity in any meaningful amount in your life time... You'd never notice to breath it in, and if it nestles nicely in your lungs, well not great.

Ever human currently alive everywhere on the Earth has probably been exposed to either the bombs (hundreds of atmospheric tests as well as the 2 used in anger remember) and / or one of the accidents.

Yay! Cancers, birth defects and fertility rates... yay

N. Korea says ready for sacred war based on 'nuclear deterrent'

According to the North's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim Young-chun, minister of the People's Armed Forces, made the warning while reading a report during a ceremony in Pyongyang marking the 19th anniversary of leader Kim Jong-il gaining supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army (KPA).

"The revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK (North Korea) are getting fully prepared to launch a sacred war of justice of Korean style based on the nuclear deterrent at any time necessary to cope with the enemies' actions deliberately pushing the situation to the brink of a war," Kim was quoted by the KCNA as saying in the report.

Referring to the tense situation on the Korean Peninsula, Kim went on to say that the South Korean forces perpetrated such military provocations as shellings against North Korea during their recent exercises for a war of aggression in the Yellow Sea.

"The enemy's scenario for aggression aimed at the start of another Korean War has reached the phase of its implementation. The army and people of the DPRK never make an empty talk. Should the enemies intrude into the sky, land and seas of the DPRK even 0.001 mm, the KPA will as ever continue dealing more devastating physical blows at them without hesitation," Kim said.

"In case the U.S. imperialists and their followers finally spark off an all-out war, the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK will not only wipe out the aggressors but blow up their bases and thus eradicate the root cause of war and surely accomplish the historic cause of national reunification," he said.

As always, they say that if their territory is violated by even an atom, they will destroy the enemy... they are predictable... it's ridiculous.

What I said they would say about the drills yesterday :

Nothing yet. Probably will say that it's provocative and that they will strike back with all their might if even an inch of their territory is violated or something like that.
