Your shortsightedness amazes me. Maybe one day when you have to have some random dude do a cavity search on you, so that you can go to a public public place, you'll wake up. "cry babies"? I think not. You see people who need to conform out of FEAR and i see people who are "pissed as hell" and are about ready to "not take it anymore".

I'm flying next month... I bought my tickets before the scanners were implemented. Whats your grand excuse as for why i should have to go through the scanners that weren't mentioned when i bought said tickets?

MOTF!

See that word "cavity"? You link a random cavity search to what the TSA agents do. Really, there isn't any difference in the way you present it here.

At what point will they stop? If the girl talked about above had a bottle stuck up inside of her, then what's to stop someone else from doing that with a bomb. What is on the horizon? CAVITY CHECKS???? Head down to your local airport for a gloved finger to be inserted into your CAVITY! Frick them... To hell with their safety checks!!! TSA, you've gone too far and I WILL NOT ever fly unless you change your rules. Yes, I'm just one person, but if enough people call for a HALT to your SEXUAL ASSAULTS and POTENTIAL RADIATION POISONING, then maybe you'll rethink this mess.

This infuriates me!!! Yes, I do want to be safe, but this price is just too high. Trying to plug all of the potential holes is like trying to stop water from dripping from a sponge.

Why not this? If our Government is not going to follow the laws of our constitution (i.e. citizens moving about freely), then I say they go back to RACIAL PROFILING!!! How many of these BS safety checks actually find anything anyways. (Granny's got a gun! Toddler's armed and on the run!) I bet if you checked 100% of the foreign population (MUSLIMS or Look like a muslim), they'd have a much higher success rate. The fact that they don't check every muslin who is boarding a plane is just plain asinine.

People need to grow a spine and stand up to government violation against their rights.

The xray and microwave machines are used randomly, is that fair?

How come, we got so many videos of kids getting strip searched? Is that fair? Is it right?

Most of the people, boarding the plane, just walk through the metal detector and there are good to go.

The Chemicals in the underwear bomber's underwear would not have been detected by the xray or microwave machines.

The copying machine cartridge explosive was in the cargo hold, not the passenger compartment.

The cockpits have fortified doors and the pilots carry guns.

We go 9 years, and now all of sudden, the govt. wants to infringe upon our 4th amendment rights. Not to mention sexual assault, and kiddie porno pictures.

Abolish the TSA, let the airlines decide what level of security that they want.

The people could then decide if they wanted invasive security, or just proven security.

Wake up people, stand up for your rights.

I bet the Chinese have more rights than we do right about now.

I loved the expression "detained by the military". Although I'm not an American citizen I've been following the news regarding the TSA's new policy and the abuses. I've been thinking about the procedures I went through during mandatory military service in my country. You don't have an option to opt out of military and after you've been recruited they can strip search you, grope you etc. And in my case there have been some people using drugs inside the barracks so the searches were routine acts.

What I'm saying is there are countries in much worse condition than US. At least Americans can try to find logic flaws in TSA's controls, try to be wise with the puny officers, claim that they've been abused. I can't claim what I've gone through was an invasion of my basic human rights because I'd be labeled as a traitor. People understand the concepts of personal choice, personal rights, opting out...That's really something.

However, for an outsider watching, it seems like the invasion of rights in US is more controlled (meaning as if planned). I've read the news about feds planting GPS tracking devices on the cars parked outside and that's considered legal now. Than came the TSA policies. It seems scary over there, I wonder what will be next.

Maybe what could have saved this ABC producer would be to warn the TSA agent that she has a highly contagious outbreak of herpes. The mutant kind that pop when touched. I think the TSA would have thought twice after that.

Good lord.. my husband said the same thing! LOL! I told him nope, its the hairy balding beer belly guy that he gets. : )

There are so many threads out there on ATS concerning this. Ive said all I can stand to type about certain issues
The thing thats really positive is that the ATSers and the Prisonplanet infowarriors are NOT the only ones who are screaming bloody murder about this and what should have been put into lace before they even thought about this BS ( IE border security, cargo, ports, etc). This is no longer the realm of the conspiracy theorist and thank God .. or whomever you want.. for that!

Oh and I forgot to add this one thing. Even though I'm totally with you people on this I'm also glad that TSA started enforcing this policy. Please bear with me for a moment before flaming.

As a foreigner (and unfortunately as a citizen of a Muslim country even though I don't have religious beliefs) I have faced racist smugness, a constant threatening tone of speech (so called professionalism), strip searches, mockery and insulting interrogative questioning when entering US over the past several years. And since one of my siblings lives in the US I had a few of these trips. It feels so nerve wrecking going through this every time. And it feels humiliating when people who treat you that way (the officers) who have lesser education, lesser ethics than you can get away with this just because they have this #ty badge and an American passport and you don't.

Now they started treating their own citizens that way and the way people are reacting makes me feel understood. It is quite a relief to feel understood when you are mistreated. That's why I said I felt glad.

Sorry if all this have been a little off-topic. I just felt like sharing an outsider perspective.

Obviously you missed the "one day" part right before I said something about "cavity searches". That "one day" that I put in there gives refrence to the future. Im saddened that people like yourself will inevitably make it the NEAR future rather than the DISTANT future.

To add insult to injury, there is this: www.wnd.com...

How disgusting is this??? If you ask a TSA to change gloves and he or she refuses, what are your options? At this point, apparently nothing!!

Are you kidding me? "One day" negates the fact that you just owned yourself, and makes me want to have my rights taken away? Please, if you have only personal attacks left, you shouldn't keep going.

LMAO! I just thought of that.... After my ineviatble "pat-down" im gona tell the guy "hey bro you might want to change those gloves! I got into some questionable material when i was younger..." If i said it loud enough for other passengers in line to hear it...... I think it would be classic!

Why hasn't a person or even the ACLU filed a suit in federal court over the obvious erosion of the 4th amendment. Have we ALL become sheeple?

The only thng Ive heard was a guy who was on the radio a few times but now has hushed up since retaining an attorney. He claims that his teen daughter was searched under the enhanced methods and the agents hand was in the girls underwear and parted her labia....she immediately started crying. I havent heard anything more on it since he retained his atty, but I imagine the govt/tsa wants this kind of thing to be done quietly. The radio host said that the TSA have no idea what they are doing as far as the actual methods of the searches ( groping in underwear with the same gloves youve used 100 times on different people) and that the methods varied between each airport. That there was no set method for the searches. He says that either they arent trained and just sent out to grope and look for contraband or they are incompetent perverts even after training.

IF Al Qaeda is involved in this threat, they may have already accomplished their goals just with the threats alone and the predictable overreaction by the federal government.

Personally, I believe this was an intentional empty threat, meant to distract.

The feds got punk'd!

Al Qaeda itself is a creation, distraction, a ploy, BAIT.

The true enemies of the west have a very long term plan, and haven't shown their faces yet. Never will, it will always be blamed on Al Qaeda... everything, it has to be!

I agree

All their trying to do in that article, is put a face on who's to blame for the collapse of the economy. When in reality, there is no such thing as Al Kaka (fairy tale name), just religious fighters immigrating throughout the entire Middle East, to fight in what they believe to be a 'Holy War'. Al Kaka is just a sole propaganda machine made to entice the religious fanatics out there, into taking action against the 'White Devil'.

It's just to convenient for them to portray Al Qaeda as the sole driver to the collapse of the US economy..

Al Qaeda, more like Al CIA-propaganda

Once again, I don't think it is okay for anyone to grope the genital areas of people. Not okay. Even if they are government officials, especially if they are government officials. Especially if it is basically coerced. How? Some people literally have no choice but to fly, so they are effectively forced to be groped.

I know there is the choice to go through the scanner that shows your naked body, but this whole thing is ridiculous. Strip away the bull# where the TSA pretends to be protecting from terrorists, and just look at the fact that the TSA official touched a woman's genitalia.

This is definitely immoral by anyone's standards. It is immoral by religious standards and it is immoral by liberal and feminist standards.

What frustrates me is that the TSA is engaging in immoral activities, not even being the least bit considerate to their passengers, treating them like criminals, no, it is the TSA who has crossed the line this time, they are the criminals.

It frustrates me that people are so afraid of terrorists that they are willing to illogically give up their freedoms, which are in my opinion, more important than life itself. I would rather live a free life and die a bit early in a terrorist attack than live any part of a life in a totalitarian state where the government gropes me every time I travel. Does this not make sense? Is there no line here?
