Plane with possible wing on fire makes emergency landing at JFK airport

A DELTA Airlines flight with a wing on fire made an emergency landing today at New York's JFK Airport.

The plane landed at JFK at 5.51pm local time. There were no injuries reported, the New York Times said.

Twenty-five fire units and 106 firefighters were on standby awaiting the landing, according to the New York Fire Department.

According to reports, the Moscow-bound flight took off from JFK, then turned back after experiencing engine trouble.

This is now the second plane with a damaged wing. The article claims the wing was on fire and so does sky news. As this is the second plane in less then a week to have a wing related incident.

Will be interesting to see the damage on the wing and if it was similar with the birmingham airport (uk) incident.

I kind of see vague similarities already. will see what happens..

update: Witnesses said the plane was dumping fuel and that one of its wings was apparently on fire.
