I was looking at the 80 Gigapixel photo taken of London and posted online at this URL: www.360cities.net...

After looking around for about 20 minutes I found something really odd.

Seems like the woman on the left in front of the music store is also the same woman on the right walking along with no legs or feet! You will need to scroll to the right to see the entire photo.

Anyone have a logical explanation?

I don't see the second woman with no legs or feet you are referring to. I only see a woman and a man chatting it up in front of the music store.

Oh wait never mind I see it now, yea that is her alright. It is probably because the large image is made up of many other images and that is her before she got to the music store.

Then you need to do as the chap says and scroll to the right...

Anyhoo, as for an explanation, I bet the huge image is actually made up of many images stiched together. Hence, two pictures of the same person. The legs missing might be where the images were stiched together...

You do know that a series of pictures have been stitched together to make the entire image, right?!
Look some more you will see more of these anomolies.

if i remember correctly, the screenshot is a whole bunch of images put together.
they snapped the one, then the other while she was walking.

wanted o add, i did this once shooting a griz run across a ridge in montana.
ended up that i could line up the pics into a full scenic image, and the bear was in ever once of them.

Yes, the photo was not a single exposure photograph, rather multiple pictures that were "sewn" together to get the final huge image. Simply a time lapse from when the 2 pictures were taken. BTW, first post here, this one was just too easy not to jump on board

The woman on the right has just been caught on the middle of putting her invisibility cloak on.

Don't you know that all of us Brits have a free invisibility cloak given to us by the government when we turn 18? I though EVERYONE had one

These pictures will have been taken over a few minutes time. In these types of panoramic photo's, as other members have mentioned - they will be somewhat overlapped - hence the 'anomalies' such as phantom or missing limbs and 'twins'.

This is simply a matter of overlapping images over a few moments of time. Capturing the same person a few shots ahead of them selves, due to two or three images are overlayed.

It's an awesome panorama.

Doesn't this present some privacy issues?

meh, not really.. they were all publicly visible. Anyone could see what the camera saw..even the naked woman in the window that they photoshopped out.
