The Normailzation of Insanity

This is why I tend to be more of a lurker. If I said what I really thought of some threads, well I'd be in word wars 98% of my time on ATS and get no chance to read other well thought out and down to earth posts that I can truly engage with. Its easy to say, ignore the threads like that but much harder to do it unfortunately mainly because they are INTERESTING... it's like a car wreck really, you just have to crane your neck and get a look.

I personally think we will be 1 gender one day. That is not to say either gender, but i think mankind will decide to go that way. Obviously science will come along that says that most things are possible.

I am not sure if then we will be religious still or spiritual, but i think humans needs some sort of sprital experience. Also factually proving other dimensions may also help this.

I believe I understand what you are trying to say, although I do consider Buddhism to be a Religion, but just without all the killings and fear mongering.

You CAN NOT go down the road of "All things are equal." Can't. Won't happen. Look at Rome. Look at the Greeks.

Rome was certainly not a all things equal society...actually, the fall of ancient rome was due mostly to a incredible divide between the people and the politics. you hear often about the basic loss of morality in Rome being the deterioration that allowed the fall...but that deterioration was not the common roman...the common roman was simply disenchanted with the corruption of the powers, the central focus of power and money to only the elite, and the double standards and non-equal treatment between the two. if all things were equal mentality was kept, then Rome arguably would have never fallen...however, it was their loss in the democratic principles over time that angered the common citizens moreso than any single aspect going on.

Greece was fine, they simply got conquored..the best political system on earth means nothing when you have a army bearing down on you. Rome initially adopted their system, but lost their way eventually.

Affluence breeds the fight out of people. We are so wealthy that we are no discussing if BOB and TOM deserve public acknowledgemenent of their relationship. If animals deserve the same rights as people. If Parents have no say over their children. If Christianity is deserving of respect. If the U.S should even exist.

A sign of a successful civilization is based on the merits of their intellectual achievements, not on how difficult it was to simply survive.
The greek golden age was all about discussions of sports, sociology, philosophy, etc...and the greatest philosophers of all time came from that era. I think when your getting to that stage, it is a good thing.
in two thousand years from now, they will not likely be discussing world war 2, but what may indeed live on is the philosophical discussions of Keith Olberman or Rush Limbaugh..words live on, actions are quickly forgotten..our words today define us in future generations as to who we were...so discussions about if all people are people shows us at a dividing point. do you honestly think in 1000 years, or even 100 years, people will be equally as freaked out about t3h gheyz as you are now? no...so the question is, which words will you leave as your footnote in history...the party clinging onto the past dying thinking, or one of the visionarys of the future forward thinking.

Personally I think we should have a people based government that represents who they are attempting to represent regardless of what sex they are.

if a woman has a better grasp on the local issues than a man does, then that person should lead until such a time she no longer connects to the common issues involved in her specific community

hell, if a transgender alien represented best the community, then let that person speak for the community. sex is neither a pro nor con in regards to leadership anymore...once people give up the "a man or woman should lead because" nonsense, we will progress a little bit as a society.

egad, no...I mean, I do fully believe in the future, we will be able to change sex as simple as pressing a button, but I think there will always be a core masculine or femine aspect to a person..even if we are simply a swarm of nanobots that can transform into a goat if we wanted to.

For me is insane to believe in immaculate conception and other catholic/orthodox/reformed dogmas but I do not go to christian forums and say participants that they are insane because that would be insane per se. Is OP masochist? If not then he/she is really insane.

As often we are working with fuzzy terms "sane/insane". Can we start with definition of this concept? General definition, not particular examples of what somebody perceive as sane/insane.

Insane is what is going against substantial interests of some particular entity - both individual and/or society. Hence what is sane for entity A may be insane for entity B. Now we can pretty well see that sane/insane is relative to some particular entity. But sanity is also relative to "inner" circumstances of this particular entity. Cutting your leg is in most cases insane. But if your leg is rotting than it may be only way how to fulfill your substantial interest - stay alive.

OP, I totally agree with the most of your post. On conspiracy theorist websites such as ATS, if you think anything is not a conspiracy then you are considered "sheeple" and "brainwashed" and controlled by "TPTB". It's like going into a church and telling them all God doesn't exist.

Also, you broke the number one rule of ATS. Don't ever talk bad about homosexuality on ATS. You will get your head ripped off by raging homosexual conspiracy theorists. They will label you all sorts of different things just for not accepting or having an opposing opinion to their way of life. Accepting homosexuality is now trendy, so if you go against the trend you are an outcast. Also, you can't ever tell them they are broken because they are perfect in their own eyes. They will say homosexuality is natural just like a dog eating it's own feces is natural.

On ATS, what is considered insanity to the majority of the world is actually welcomed. If you don't become insane they will repel you away from this website.

ATS members are as varied as any group of people in the world. And they carry many different opinions. To speak of ATS as having one opinion on ANY subject is clearly against the very motto of ATS: Deny Ignorance.

The OP blasts out a rant against people who disagree with his opinions and labels them "insane". And because you share his opinions, you agree with him that the rest of us are insane... And if you get called on your archaic anti-homosexual beliefs and assumptions, you become a victim and say you're "being repelled" away from the site.

You have made the post I have often considered making myself, friend. Dead on and accurate IMO.

I call it the erasure of normalcy. It's a line blurring, chaos inducing state of affairs in this world today. The 'enlightened' are actually the most confused and the 'asleep' are probably the only chance the world has.

In my view, it's intensified in recent years, the main culprit being that o' so great 'bastion of free speech' we call the internet in specific and pop culture in general. Common sense, critical thinking and normalcy were the price we are all paying for this 'digital age'.

Peace protesters fight and do violence in the name of peace, we hate this shade of people for hating that shade of people, we fight to kill the innocent while fighting to spare the guilty, and so forth and so on.....and on and on. Meanwhile, NOTHING is abnormal anymore, nothing is bizarre or unacceptable. In fact, anything at all goes---as long as it goes along with the popular, trendy and group-mind.

Ur absolutely right. That was my po'd at the state of our country speech. An all female govt wouldnt be any different than it being all male. I'd be satified with a fair mix of both.

Insane= in sane, insanity is, in sanity, look deep enough at the sane and you will get a clearer picture into the sane and you to will be in sane.. What is there to get there is no such thing as normal, that can encompass the whole of humanity, unless you want to become a bot, which can be arranged. So what is normal, but that which we decree as normal. Set your path and call it normal or whatever, and if you live long enough you will witness it's passing into the mist's of time. Now that is the normalization of insanity.

Christianity is good. So is Islam and Paganism. Let's play it all out and see who is there at the end
